What else are we going to argue/discuss, aka argucuss into the ground?

I do find it interesting that he's let this sit out there and not addressed it to derail it.

If you were a reporter and needing some action, what other team would you even think of starting a rumor about?

It does not harm Zeke or his agent.

They would not really benefit by addressing it.

Zeke won't be in front of cameras/microphones until training camp.
Even if he wanted to kill the rumor, tweeting about it probably wouldn't help.

Or it could be “ state Tv” aka Fox.

What do you think E. Any basis to these rumors. The Buzz is beginning. No one seems to know but think it’s possible.

I think it's dawned on Zeke what's coming. He continues to act like an immature dolt, the Cowboys own him for two more years, and they're about to run his tires off just like they did Demarco. Then, in a year or two, they'll toss him aside, as they should. Never pay what you don't trust. Take risks on injury here and there, but never on constant off-field lunacy.

Dallas doesn't care if he holds out through camp because they protect him anyway during that time. Most of the fan base thought he was going to be suspended a game or two anyway, so what's the difference?

If he's really reasonable, they might do something for him. Guaranteed 3 years at $40 million would be OK. If he wants more, then never mind.

He's the best weapon on the team, but also the most replaceable. If he didn't constantly act like a cave man, he'd get his money.

Can you recall a 1st rd pick holding out two years before their 5 year Rookie contract is up?

Nobody at CZ has said Zeke won't hold out from the comments I've seen.

The issue is that there is 1 report which is from known tabloid type national sports media guy Florio.
All other "reports" are just repeating Florio.
At least one 1st round pick has held out during training camp going into his 4th season.

Aaron Donald
2017

On April 12, 2017, the Rams exercised the fifth-year option on Donald's contract.

Donald did not report to the Rams' 2017 training camp and preseason. He did play that season.

2018 (His 5th Year)
On August 31, 2018, after holding out all off-season, Donald signed a contract extension.

Donald had more than just contract issues with the Rams.

The Rams hired Wade Phillips in 2017 which meant they would switch to a 3-4 defense.
Donald didn't want to play in that scheme.
Donald is the prototype 4-3 Under 3-tech.
He is the opposite of the prototype 3-4 DLineman.
Prototype 3-4 DE is his teammate Brockers.
Brockers: 6-5, over 300 with 35 inch arms.
Donald: 6-1, listed at 280 with 32-5/8" arms.

Donald was getting screwed a bit more than Zeke on his rookie contract.
Zeke 4-years, 25M.
Donald 4-years, 10M.

Donald has been as good as it gets and had missed Zero games prior to the 2017 hold-out.

Please quit believing and repeating rumors that have no supporting evidence.

The National Media loves to attach the Cowboys to stories as click-bait.

The fact that other media jump on the same rumor to discuss it, does NOT make the rumor valid.

The internet and social media can make it appear that a rumor has multiple sources confirming it;
however, most often a rumor has 1 source and many people just repeat it including other media.

There are many sports websites that literally just repeat news from other sources.

Sometimes they give credit to the original source but often they don't.

We've seen many times that a National Media source has an article "Calvin Hill of the Fort Worth Star Telegram reports..."

Often it was just an Opinion by Calving Hill but they present it as if it's fact.

If Zeke is really going to hold-out, somebody in the local DFW media will find out and comment about it. At that point it might be worth discussing; however, the National Media reports literally mean nothing.

The local reporters need to maintain a level of professionalism because they must have some amount of access to the local teams they cover in order to do their jobs.

The National Media often has no downside to telling completely fabricated stories.

Pretty sure Sean Payton is going to be our coach in 2020 tho.

I have thought that Sean Payton would be one of the few proven NFL coaches that could work with Jerry because they are friends.

It would be interesting if Payton's contract was set to expire but it has multiple years remaining.

I didn’t read thru it all as it’s TMI but I took away Donald is only one ?

Want to give up two 1sts to get him? Would he want to come not having two 1sts?

You have to chuckle at this thread, really.

Because really all this is, especially for many of the posters agreeing with the OP, is that this just isn't good news or rumors for the Cowboys, so it has to be false. But if the national media was running stories/rumors of things positive for the Cowboys, suddenly, those reports have a bit more validity.

It's clear as day.

The reality is that despite the protestations here, the national media actually gets a lot of things right - pro or negative for the Cowboys, or any team for that matter.

Don’t you know Sydia, that only positive Cowboys related news can be taken at face value without the burden of proof?

Zeke and esp his agents would have to be "Brain Dead" to sit by and watch Dak get a massive new contract and have Zeke continue to carry this offense.
Bet on it.... Zeke will hold out!

P.S. Jerry and Son will give Zeke a new contract making him the highest paid HB in the league by kickoff......

Don't tell us that, tell @Reality. He's the one that's been posting these Zeke rumor threads. They are good threads for offseason discussion.

As a discussion topic it would be OK; however, many people just can't separate rumor from fact.

I did NOT say to avoid discussing the topics. I said don't take rumors as fact.

It derails many threads because people take the rumors as facts and even start making comments that Zeke "singled himself out" with regards to the holdout which literally has not happened.

Neither Zeke or his agent have said (on record) that he is going to hold out.

Example that People Can't Separate Rumor from Fact
Because Zeke has apparently made it known that this is his plan, or at least that's what is being reported. That's why he is being "singled out". He basically singled himself out and it's no different then when DLaw used the same tactic.

I am sorry you feel as if this is Ludacris.

x, x XXXXXXXXX!!! You are asking posters on a sports forum not to accept rumors as fact? Facts are not as much fun and that's not a rumor but fact.

Dak is in the final year of his contract.

Zeke is not in the final year of his contract.

Zeke will have made 25M by the end of this season. Dak will have made 2.6M in the same time period.
