Zeke is getting probably $22m guaranteed and at least $60m over at least 4 years.

Even considering anything else is pretty silly, at this point. It's just a matter of when he gets it. The longer the Cowboys wait, the more the price goes up.

So all a guy has to do is hold out and you will pay him anything he wants? Not any kind of way to run a franchise.

Hes got two years left on his contract and hes in his prime. His value will never be greater. If he is truly going to miss games, then let him. Trade him when you can get a windfall.

Zeke actually has little leverage. He has two years left on his rookie deal and then two years of franchising. By then it would be year #7 and he will be toast. Go out and get another quality back in next years draft.

Potentially skipping camp.
I get it. But you don't have to skip camp in order to get paid. You see Dak or Cooper skipping camp?

Let him walk now when he's under contract for two more years?
Elliott talent level places him in a better position plus his contract isn’t up next year. He feels he’s already proved his value and doesn’t want to be ran in the ground then dumped.

I’m not sure all fans are looking past their own fandom here to see where Elliott’s coming from?

In the grand scheme of things, the way Zeke has been used and his performance on how he's been used hasn't helped us win games. At least not in 2018.

Is there an argument that another OC could lend to Zeke helping us win games? Absolutely.

But am I willing to shell out the biggest RB contract to an RB who had more fumbles than rushing TDs and didn't help us win games last year? Hell no.

Elliott isn’t any guy. He’s the core of our offense.

Are we really ready to sign Dak and see what he does this year without Elliott?

His talent sure, but his position is diluted compared to QB and WR. The FA market shows that.
I get where he's coming from and think he will be paid, just not now.
He doesn't have much leverage right now due to only have accrued 3 seasons in the NFL.

If this was his 5th year option year, he would have more leverage.

Bye, Zeke!

Greedy big dummy.

Exactly. They have him for 2 more year PLUS the tag. This circus is starting at least a season early. He is insane. I would love to see the Cowboys sign Ajay and start fining Zeke for days missed. Hard ball. Unfortunately this will be a distraction and hurt the team. Exactly why you don’t draft morons like Zeke Elliot.

I understand . But how important is his talent level to our offense and our QB’s effectiveness.

Elliott has more value here than most RB’s in their offense.

He has leverage if he sits out and we suk beginning the season. Lol

So we overpay players to hide the anemic coaching. At some point the scheme needs to be a driver of success.

Insane. I’d call it brilliant.

A big dummy with his talent level would just play out his contract , let us run him into the ground maybe even win a championship with him and draft someone to replace him. Adios with no 2nd contract.

His level of talent can force the issue. It’s strictly business despite however emotional we are about it.

Drafting a RB at 4th overall with known character issues and who didn’t disappoint in that category is now coming back to haunt Jerrah, surprise surprise. He has been distraction since draft day and we have nothing to show for it. If he acted like he did while he was being investigated for DV and even after, while still playing under his rookie contract, I cringe to see how he’ll act after getting a huge extension.

You asked for it Jerry, we know you like to run a circus, congrats you succeeded.

You put clauses in the contract to protect yourself in the event his conduct flares up.

Sorry Zeke. That's not happening.

NO sorry Amari and Dak that aint ha[ppening they arent anywhere close to top 3 at their positions, AGAIN NOT EVEN CLOSE.. Zekes the only one that has the production and so far is top 3 at his position and while I disagree with giving him more then Gurley maybe the same , 1$ more lol.. seriously the others have inflated egos calling for market, truly zeke is earning his both on the filed in mileage but production and health..None really should get top pay but pout of the 3 ZEKE,.

Oh but you claim how smart he is, if he’s truly that smart he wouldn’t sign a contract with those clauses.

Seriously doubt it. Stephen Jones has taken over the team nowadays.
We will see.
If they don't plan to keep him then its best he finds out now so he can go play for another team who values him.
He would be a fool to play 7 years under his rookie/franchise scenario.
