With all this talk of not signing a rb to a second contract considering their short life span, I don’t see why it is out of this world that a damn top rb wants to get paid. Get paid when you’re at your healthiest and in your prime. It doesn’t work the other way around.

You obviously underestimate how good our run blocking will be with a stronger Conner Williams at LG and the return of Frederick. Pollard isn't a scrub.
He's not, but imagine how much dangerous we would be with him and Zeke.

Zeke had 77 catches for 500 yards while rushing for 1400 yards

We need Zeke more than we are letting on

With Linehans playcalling. Moore's playcalling will have more formations to better use Pollards speed.

That's his motto. Did it with Emmitt...did it with Cooper. All Jerry cares about is being relevant, If the Cowboys struggle without Zeke this is all the media is going to be talking about.
I don't think it's all he cares about, but it's hard to look at the entirety of Jones' ownership and not come away thinking that it's about relevance and increasing club value first, with winning second.

You are the one using the language like "irreplaceable". Look at the number of close games every year - even against bottom of the barrel teams. The case is supported, you just have to be willing to look from a different perspective.

Unless you can direct connect it to a running back (and you can't), it's not relatable.

It's pretty clear that Zeke and his agent have no interest in anything near Gurley's deal. They want to set a new market.

Surpassing the Gurley deal will set the market, if the Gurley deal is the starting point for negotiation. The question is much both sides what to surpass that deal.

You can directly connect it to 2-3 plays a game, so one player who is the best at his position in the league is absolutely relevant.

Im saying this new gen of RBs will make some changes via CBA but why the NFL ? RBs like Bell and Zeke are going to force some change in that thought process, Gurley Got paid didnt he , are the Rams and Gurley not part of the nfl? those thoughts may work for 75% of RBs but like Elite players in General they arent just Rs, they are elite players who deserve better money and contracts..if you didnt want to pay them , dont draft them so high, once you do and they perform elite, they will all be asking for new money..

Thanks for bringing up Bell and Gurley. It only strengthens my point.

Bell gambled and lost, and is out $14 million that he'll never get back. And he was stuck signing with the Jets because noone else wanted him. And the Jets GM that signed him was fired mere weeks later.

As for Gurley? He and his balky knee, along with that silly contract guaranteeing him all that money and locking the Rams into damaged goods is a cautionary tale for teams NOT to make the same mistake.

Thanks for the help in proving my point.

Whatever, I was a lineman and i know what stud backs mean to an OL. Consistency and not flash in the pan guys.

And the Cowboys clearly show that the line makes the running back, not the other way around.

Murray
Randle/McFadden
Elliott
Next guy

Lol so funny. This would be like if your hand got gangrene and you saying "Yea hand! Fall off! show those idiots who's boss!" Um bro...you realize what Zeke is doing is ruining your football team. Or are you a troll?

I'm actually okay if Zeke does holdout into the season, we'll get to finally see if Dak is good enough to carry the team.

Dak will have other RB's other than Zeke to help the offense. I guess i'm in the minority on Pollards skillset. Fine by me.

Picking a rb in the top half of the draft only proves their point. There is a difference and exactly what someone said, if you don’t think the position has any value, why take one with a prime pick? As much as Zeke has proven on the field, it’s understandable why he wants to eat and get paid.

Gone are the days of Troy Hambrick and Felix Jones. One Was a FA and one was a 1st overall draft pick. The difference that Zeke brings is huge. Stop closing your eyes.
