They are waiting on something. They won't budge off the offer it seems. So they have placed a value on Dak and I suspect it's lower than some of you guys realize. So at this point, it probably behooves them to just let him play out 2019 unless he wants to sign for what they think his value is.
I think it’s 32 area. But you maybe right. And with Dak there is no hurry. Elliot now is going to sit if he don’t get his money. That’s bad business to me if they are actually offering gurly money. The RB scale drops from 14.3 to 8 being the next highest. If Elliot is wanting 17 then he is crazy.

ITS CHESS. Two of the 3 players will get done soon. The 3rd player(Zeke) will be playing on his current deal, then the team will likely do a max contract with him next offseason.

They aren’t asking him to prove it. Really not any of the 3. Elliot won’t sign a 1 year prove it deal. None of them will.
Cooper and Prescott are in the last year of their contracts so they are on a prove it deal. And I have no problem with that.

Some are using the argument of giving a 1st for Cooper as a reason to make him a top 3-5 paid WR when he's only been there for half a season and has a spotty history. So what? Has this team not blown 1st round picks before? Hell, got one at DE right now.

They have Elliott on the option and can use the tag on one of the other two and draft the other position in this next draft. Either that or it's balls out and hope they can bring it home before the exodus takes place.

At some point they have to face the facts, they have too many up on the O side and are in jeopardy of getting unbalanced and not have enough to keep some critical pieces of the defense.

EzE is just being absurd. He's making $13 million over the next two years. While his QB is making $700k a year.
Yep, but his QB will be make twice as much as him in the near future.

Some people just don't understand how today's society works. Social media has destroyed any sort of 'secrecy' when it comes to these contract negotiations. 10 years ago, convos such as these were extremely rare. Today, both sides use these platforms as negotiating ploys hoping that they can pressure a side to cave. And that's all this is...'leaking' this statement is nothing more than another negotiating tactic.
Exactly.

I don’t think anyone is talking about signing a one year prove it deal. They’re talking about letting them play out their current contracts. The bottom line is we have to extend either Dak or Cooper before the end of this season. We can’t go into the offseason with both unsigned.

But I never said I wanted to get rid of Dak....I said I wanted him to retire a cowboy

However yes he is replaceable if it needs to be done....as much as I like Dak there are QBs coming out that can surpass him

Just because I like Dak does not mean I can’t be realistic
It's not realistic to think a QB in the draft that has never took a NFL snap is going to surpass him. Can that happen? Yes, is it likely? NO

Always trying to nickle and dime. If only we held the head coach to the “prove it deal” standard

Agreed. This is not good at all. This is what they did with Demarcus Lawrence and he now costs 50% more than he should have.

Zeke leads the league in rushing the last three years. I think he's proved it already. He's the only one of the three that deserves the money they want
Disagree, Coach. Zeke has led the league in rushing 2 out of the last 3 years. His off-the-field actions has cost him and the team, plus here he is now holding out and willing to hurt the team some more even though he is under contract for 2 more years. If rookie RBs Pollard and Weber keep shining this preseason, the offense will be fine while Zeke holds out. Plus, to respond to your statement on another thread stating a top RB is more important than an Oline, I beg to differ based on my personal experience. Yes, it is a luxury to have a top RB, but that RB still needs good blocking in front of him and have a good/smart QB to feed him. He can't do it all by himself. Troy as QB and Emmitt as RB proved just that towards their later years when they didn't have the best protection in front of them.
