I agree, let him sit. Hopefully we can develop one of these new backs to step in and be a starter and get decent trade for Zeke next year. Let him sit and then next year, we can trade him and he can get somebody else to give him his money.

I'm sure that even more teams will be lining up to give up a 1st round pick, make him the league's highest-paid running back, and then have sleepless nights hoping that he doesn't do something else stupid.

I bet you the Commanders give us the gears without Zeke and although are going with a rookie at QB have a much better defense then what people see.

Their QB is going to run circles around Dak. That being said, the Commanders are most likely starting the season with McCoy and Keenum. Haskins is currently listed as three right now, to develop him. They aren’t forcing their hand yet.

I think they've been trying to communicate with these players that the team just can't afford to pay everybody at the top of the market at their position. They've come out and stated that several times now. The trouble is, the players are listening to agents who don't want to hear about any of that. They want their commission and their reputation as getting "their guys" top dollars. There's a conflict of interests at work here.

So which it is?

"Running circles around Dak" or "running third" on his own team?

Can't be both.

You're right. Poor players. Pay them all as much as they want. Then we don't have to stop *****ing about everything here.

Yea poor owners, they got you convinced that they are limiting themselves from playing players for your own good ....... Keep believing that bull*!?*

Right now the Rams are second-guessing themselves on the Gurley contract. Looked great when they broke the bank, now a huge concern. Especially now that the Rams might have to give $35M/year for Goff in the very near future.

Yes, he will. But the Commanders aren’t starting their rookie QB right out the gate, but will get him accustomed to the NFL like every other organization pretty much does. It’s called a plan.

Only an idiot would think Haskins is some sort of joke. Dak couldn’t throw 20 yards back-peddling off his feet with his floaters, while Haskins throws accurate lasers downfield, while back-peddling. The back shoulder fade, Haskins throws in his sleep. Dak’s ends up where the fans are sitting. Haskins also doesn’t avoid the intermediate and deep middle of the field like check-down Charlie.

Dak was a fourth for a reason and he was lucky Zeke ended up behind him, while Dak took snaps.

I just find it comical that people are acting like Zeke is doing something out of the ordinary in the context of the Cowboys FO.

The Cowboys FO has already stated for a couple years this is how they are going to work from now on. They will try and extend players that are talented before FA even comes around, so they can get them at good value. Stephen has already said they don’t have any plans to pay top dollar in free agency anymore and attributes their past failures as a result of moves that involve them. Basically, he’s masking their being cheap in football terms. He also ignores the elephant in the room of failures bring related to Jason Garrett and the “on-the-job training”.

Dallas wants to negotiate early and wants to negotiate early with Zeke, per their own words. Zeke is playing THEIR game as well. The ‘choir boy’ excuse is a crock of garbage. First of all, Jerry’s support of Zeke was a result of Zeke’s talent. Second, Zeke was suspended based on college life in reality and if it were Kraft or Mara, Zeke would have never been suspended anyways.

next year is still early. They’ve got other more immediate situations. Everyone on planet earth knows Zeke will be taken care of (or believes he will). He doesn’t need to be a choir boy, but holding out immediately after yet another incident is bad form

Not for Zeke, when everybody pretty much nowadays says RB shelf life is 5 years before production drops off. Again Zeke faces more stacked boxes than any RB with the volume he carries and Dallas runs into them at a rate that dwarfs other teams. The only reason we are successful is because of the uncanny ability of Zeke to continue going forward even when getting hitting. He’s the best in the business in getting yards out of nothing.

Last time we had an RB of this caliber sit out we won a Superbowl (unless I'm mistaken).

I was early on in the USN and we lost the first two game because E. Smith sat out. Signed him and we went on a tear.

Damn. Wish I had Aikman this run!

It's called "wishful thinking". And it's a failure. If Haskins is as good as you seem to think, he's a starter today, not anybody's "third string", much less that sorry team. The NFL doesn't have enough starters as it is, much less these "gems" that you seem to think sitting 3rd on the depth chart.Your attempted logic fails.

Only an idiot would think Haskins is some sort of joke.

Only a bigger idiot anoints a third string rookie who has never thrown an NFL pass.

Dak couldn’t throw 20 yards back-peddling off his feet with his floaters, while Haskins throws accurate lasers downfield, while back-peddling. The back shoulder fade, Haskins throws in his sleep. Oh brother, your Haskins love has taken you completely off the rails. To the point of ridiculousness. This tripe isn't even worthy of a counter. It's nonsense.

He should get his money when his contract is fulfilled.

I keep hearing this ....... But Ware and Dez both still had contracts and loved the Cowboys when Jerry and Stephen cut them.

Guess only the players should be expected to fulfill the contracts .......
