By mentioning the Gurley contract he guaranteed that’s where his agent would start.
Yes, because he's been doing this for 30 years. "Probably" going to start at Gurley money. Doesn't take someone that's been doing it for 30 years to know where the agent of the leading rusher 2 of the past 3 years, leading rusher per game the past 3 years, is going to start the negotiations at. Actually he's going to start higher, Just common sense.

I 100% agree that both SJ and JJ need to shut up. But to blame SJ for Zeke wanting top $ has NOTHING to do with what he said.

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will not play in the 2019 season without a new contract, a source close to the situation told ESPN's Josina Anderson on Tuesday.

It matters what they say in public, because by making that statement they gave Zeke camp the parameters of the contract for Zeke, and now the Jones want to use the lessor contract of L. Bell to negotiate with Zeke, that’s why what you say during a public negotiation is relevant.

The fact I had to break this down for you shows me you are not very informed of the big picture concerning these negotiations, I would suggest a tab bit more research.
screw you... you dont need to break down a damn thing for me. Jerry is going to do what Jerry wants, and if Zeke doesnt like it, he ca sit his arse on the sidelines. Jerry also was not talking about a contract for THIS YEAR. So what Jerry said has NO relevance for THIS season. I cant believe I had to break that down for you. Maybe you should pay a little closer attention to what Jerry actually says. Did Jerry speak publicly about redoing Zekes deal for THIS year?

Dak Prescott and Dallas is 4-0 in the last 4 games without Zeke. The offense has scored 20, 30, 36, and 38 point in those games. Dak has averaged around 270 yards and 2 tds in those games.

I love selective stats. How were they in all the games minus Zeke? Thats like saying... well, since 1996 Jerry has zero SB titles...... HILARIOUS.

I seriously would see about trading for duke Johnson

What’s Duke Johnson supposed to bring us? He is a draft bust. Is Zeke supposed to be so worried about his job that he caves due to Duke Johnson?

is this a serious thought?

Zeke is the best RB in the NFL and he knows it. Duke Johnson is a camp body at best. He does nothing better than anyone we already have.

Then again, I'd say we're a sham and a non-contender of a team.

But as I've stated numerous times, I sure as heck wouldn't be trotting Alfred Morris out there as my top option!

 You're original point is valid, we're not contenders if we can't have a winning record Zeke or no Zeke within those first 3 games. Can't agree more on Alfred Morris.

I think because he knows the system and so they don't ruffle with Dak's and the o-lines repititions he's here for camp and they hope Zeke gets done and the rookies develop as they learn throughout camp.

Alfred Morris is back for the same reason the franchise keeps yes men around. He is a good boy and will be a good soldier.
This franchise has kept these a Dave Campo types around for years.

That said I think free agent RBs are a pretty beat looking group. If Jay Ajayi was worth anything the Eagles would have kept him and some team would have already signed him.

Not sure you are mature enough to have a conversation with me, you also sound upset. Let me try and calm you down. This is the NFL, these things happen, ZEKE will get signed and everything will be fine.

I wound suggest getting off the internet and maybe ride your bike to the store for some ice cream to calm your nerves.

It does have something to do with what he said, SJ stated Gurley contract would be the starting point, adding “ probably” is semantics, so Zekes team is thinking ok that is the parameters we will be starting at, then the Jones’s want to back track and say no we think L. Bell reset the market.

So if one side is using Gurley and the opposing size is using Bell you get what you have a stalemate. The contract will get done but making that statement is hurting them now and was not needed, and the deal is not going to get signed via the media, not sure why this concept is so difficult to understand.

Just as I thought. It's Stephen's big mouth that led to all of this. He promises one thing and then backtracks. I've also been reading around the internet and most think a deal gets done before the season starts so all this hating on Zeke is useless. He'll miss a few preseason games and that'll be it.

Duke was a 3rd round pick? Lol do you have him confused with Trent Richardson?

He is an all purpose back who is a poor mans zeke/gurley/david Johnson

If we want to go cheap at RB he is the option

This! Stephen Jones talked a big game about Todd Gurleys contract...
tru dat. but he didn't mean this year. he meant at the expiration of his contract. at which time that might have been appropriate. but zeke has changed the dynamic with his holdout.

Not sure why it's difficult for you to understand that, Zeke agent wasn't sitting around with no parameters and heard SJ say, "Probably" starts at Gurley and says " cool, we have our parameters ". If SJ says nothing, the agent is coming in above Gurley. If SJ says it starts at bell, the agent is coming in above Gurley. Everyone, except maybe you, knew where the agent was going to come in at. Again, he needs to shut up, but him talking has nothing to do with this stalemate. They had 2 with Dlaw, they had one with Martin, they have 2 in camp right now in Dak and Cooper. Agents come in high, team comes in low. It's been going on 100 years in the NFL.
