I’m losing interest in Zeke as his holdout continues.
Me too. I'm losing interest in Zeke in general. He's becoming a polarizing player on this team. Either he's winning games for us or being a major distraction as far as suspensions, conduct off the field, and holdouts. It seems like all we talk about is Dak and Zeke. This is Romo and Dez all over again. It's tiring and repetitive. I'm at the point if we could get good value in a trade involving draft picks I would want to lock up Coop, Jaylon and Dak and send Zeke to another team and he can get in trouble there.

Zeke should hope for his own sake that he's even still in football shape by the time he's "ready" to deal.

His toes in the water, *** in the sand, not a worry in the world, a cold beer in his hand ....

Now the question is when/if Jerry and/or Stephen are bringing in quality replacement and no that's not Morris or Polar IMO.

As expected, August 6 deadline meant nothing to Ezekiel Elliott

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...-6-deadline-meant-nothing-to-ezekiel-elliott/

When word first emerged of an Ezekiel Elliott holdout, some insisted that Elliott would show up before August 6 in order to receive what would have been his fourth year of credit toward free agency. Others (us) explained that the date meant nothing to Elliott, who cares far less about becoming a free agent and far more about getting a new contract — especially since he has two years left under his rookie deal.

August 6 has now come and gone, and Elliott didn’t cave. As expected.
its a big game of chicken. Is he good? yes. but if the cowboys do OK offensively and are winning, then it gets tougher for Zeke. he would have no choice but to show up and get his spot back. the cowboys then wouldn't be inclined "not to fine him".

and the other side is, we struggle in the run game and offense and Jones has to cave in....

I think this is going to go into the season, not sure if all the way to weeks 6, but 3 or 4 games at least.

Not sure I buy that and he makes $3,853,137 which is a lot closer to 4M than 3M.

240k per game/week he misses is a lot to a kid who liikely has minimal savings.

Plus the previous 6 games checks he missed. I would not be surprised if Zeke financially cannot afford to miss games.

Again.. .zero leverage, lol.

DAL opens with 3 gimme games or as close as it gets in this league.
IF DAL must merely force themsevles to survive weeks 4-6 they can.

In a season holdout leverage will go to side based on results and having the easy games up formnt give DAL mgmt a huge advantage here.

Keep in mind missing games also reduces Zeke's chance to lead league in areas that matter to him.
Again, just so little leverage here tbh that he should take the highest offer and meet the team in Frisco.

DAL has had to survive suspensions and flirted with that again this year so a holdout doesnt place them in entirely unheard of territory.
All the stuff works against Zeke.

hes not playing in 2019...mark it down....

He will.

Too much money on the table and he'll have to sit out again next year.

He's not losing out on 13 million dollars. This whole will he or won't he debate is a waste of time because he'll show up. He's not going to walk away from millions of dollars. 250K a game.

Dallas has all the leverage.

leverage will likely ruin our season,Zeke knows this too. This is the season we have to get close to the SB.

Zeke has some leverage but it is minimal compared to what Jerry has

I can't imagine more than a few rookie contract players could.
I probably couldn't in his shoes.
When you expect money to come in you budget toward that.
And even if you can figure out a way to survive missing them it doesnt mean it's no factor or doesn't hurt in the meantime.

That is his leverage. If he had none why even talk with him. Tell him to sit out and we move on from him. We have nobody currently on this team that can replace him. He knows that. Problem is his leverage doesn't start until the season does.

If he wants to do even more damage to his reputation then he can go ahead and do it and lose out on millions of dollars while doing it.

Dallas needs to think longterm with these signings.

He's coming to the table and wanting to be the highest paid player at his position with 2 years left on his deal.

Why would Dallas ever do that deal? They won't.

Dak not accepting top 5 money at his position is beyond stupid and him actually playing football will be a reminder to Dallas of why he is not the one to invest in.

He plays the easiest position in football to replace and the 4th round rookie who took over as 1st team RB yesterday just so happens to be a star at camp.

 Going into the season with unproven rookies who haven't even played in one game. Yep SB. Lots of players are stars in camp and then when the season starts it's what ever happened to that guy? I remember when we drafted Switzer. He was supposed to so all these great things. Don't know where he is now.
