The ignore button is for the weak and thin skinned. (One man's opinion)
It's comical, but also sad, to see it announced as some kind of gotcha thing.

"I'm ignoring you!" Pfft...

But hey, I guess it works for some people.
Just know you're relying on a button to do something that you could easily do yourself.

Would rather not ignore anyone.

I’ve found that almost all posters come up with good threads/comments; albeit, some more often than others. Even the one-way/single-agenda types are, at the very least, usually good for a laugh.

Besides, where else would I have learned to read and translate @Melonfeud?

:);)

People judging those who that occasionally use "ignore" are kind of being hypocrites
:muttley:
Free world, free forum, and freedom to ignore whomever the hell we want!
Having said that, it takes someone who gets way too personal before I'd use the feature. Kind of a once a year thing, maybe.

Same reason I don't watch a few isolated tv channels or movies....just matter of preference. If someone else enjoys them, go for it.

People judging people for judging people are also hypocrites.
"It's like a circle. It never ends."... lol.

I have never used it, either on the old DC.com or here. I assume it's been used against me, as I've been threatened with that like it's the Dreaded Black Veil of Death so I figure if they put me on Ignore, I don't have to ignore them.

I came to the old site and this one with the same expectations, a little bit of everything and everybody and some hurt feelings, misunderstandings and tempers flaring, all part of the experience.

And if I put someone on Ignore, what am I going to miss? If I didn't put a poster who's life's mission was to get in my face on Ignore on the old site, there's no one here I would want to do that to and I don't have to read everything and certainly don't have to respond.

I look at Ignore as surrender. Can't deal with that person or they frustrate beyond self-control so just make them not exist. LMAO, if only I had a real life Ignore button.
I haven’t either. It’s easier for me to ignore without officially ignoring but I’m thankful some ignore me. I can respond without their needless back n forth. But I want to see everything even if it’s rubbish. It’s lije scrolling thru all the crap on FB.

In most cases if we weren’t challenged there wouldn’t be all of the petty and hostile exchanges. I’d probably have 15,000 less post.

Usually most of the responses I have are fueled or spurred by those who adamantly oppose my thoughts. If not I’d just have my initial reply and it would fade out on its own. Some get it but others don’t.

That's the thing. I have a built in ignore filter. I know which posters to just scroll on by and ignore their comments, and which I'll take time to read. Apparently, some aren't strong willed enough so they need an ignore button as a crutch.

Hmmm. You may have found a loophole to get by my original thought on this... lol.

One of the very best features of this great site is the ability to put posters on "ignore" and get rid of the white noise.

It's not something you need often, but it really parses down the site to what's interesting, relevant and conversational, while getting rid of the simpletons and riff-raff from your feed. It sharpens your experience here and eliminates the time waste of going back and forth with the clueless and meandering know-nothings.

I highly recommend it. I've got about 12 on ignore, some of them from forever ago that I'm not even sure are still here. I use it sparingly.

I don't recommend using it just because of a spirited debate that gets testy or even personal, then cools off later and gets back to meaningful football discussion. It's just the internet, and who cares about that stuff. We all get a little overly passionate at times about the Cowboys.

I'm referring to those useless fence-posts who never add anything to any conversation, and don't have the football acumen to be worth your time or thought process. You know the kind.

If you haven't already, tailor the site the way you want it before the season starts. Makes for a much better season all the way around.

Just used the feature on two extreme homers that are upset I mentioned the injuries to Martin, Lee and Quinn and the holdout of Zeke. They simply couldnt take it and went homer on me. LOL

It’s like .. who is worst . The Whiners or those whining about the Whiners. Lol

It’s all part of the big wide world of the Internet. As Sir Charles accurately said years ago” it provides every moron with a keyboard a voice”.

In 36 years at Texas Stadium we had more Cowboy fans removed than opposing fans.

If you don’t have the tolerance for opposing views or fans getting Uptight should stay at home. Same concept in Social Media.

I like the way you put that "we left", makes it sound like our idea.

I must say, Booger was footing the bill for that site and if any of his family members or he ever came there to read what we were writing about him, that would have ended it. That was always the bonus for me, he was paying for us to blast him. I do not think Reality would be so obliging.

Still miss some of the old gang that didn't make it over here but that's what growing up, I prefer that to older, will do, make you change with the change.

I really miss Don and all of his spins off that name. When she booted him off, she did let him back on but wouldn't give him back his mailbox, many laughs over that. And he was our resident artist, great stuff. He made my Booger & Son plumbers' van, I treasured that. And the stuff he'd do with Booger, Garrett and others was fall down funny. Best sigs ever.

What site are you talking about? Anyone seen Sixshooter?
