Why would Dak's leverage go up? Because our backups stink? Well he couldn't get us in the EZ either.

He made some really nice throws, got the ball down field.
Plus he's already got clout from the previous three years backing him up.
Cry some more.

And Cooper Rush is a better option than Kapernick?
Kap threw for a total of 4 yards thru three quarters the game he was benched for Blaine gabbert. He sucks. If he was a good player that could help a team win he would be on a roster. Teams really dont care what kind of person you are if you are a stud on the field.

Kap may be better than a lot of scrub QBs out there, but the bottom line is he is simply not good enough to warrant signing. Plus, he wants way more money than anyone wants to pay a backup. You can deal with distractions to a certain extent, but what's the point if the player in no way will help you win games.

We’ve seen the team not ready for the first preseason game like 7 times, the first regular season games as well, and all playoff games under this staff.

They’re slightly below average at best. IMO.

On the opposite side of things I see the Pats, during the same time, blow out teams in the preseason with a full team effort. Backups and guys that won’t even make the team fully prepared to play well.

Even if he didn't have 2 years left, this game gave him exactly what he already has - no leverage.
For a moderator I am surprised you actually think a player who is considered the best at his position in the league has no leverage just on withholding his skills from the team.
If Zeke had no leverage then why did the Cowboys offer him a contract after he held out? This in of itself shows he clearly has leverage and the organization values what he brings.

Here is what is reported about contract numbers:

Gurley’s average annual salary is $14.375 million; Bell’s is $13.125 million. Elliott reportedly wants $15 million a season.

I can't see us letting Zeke hold out the regular season over 2 million per year. (assuming this report if true, who knows).

Any player who provides a level of play comparable to Zeke has leverage based on his skills.
