jerry and son are both full of crap the untruths that come out of their mouths daily is awful they are both full of it no wonder the cowboys are not taken seriously and are an after thought to being contenders in this league
The same thing they said last year. We don't need a #1 WR. Until they had to go out and get one. Embarrassing really.

I thought this team would win somewhere between 8 and 10 games this season with 10 being the best with the moves they made in the off season and who their coaches and qb are that's with zeke if they don't have zeke and a injury two they will be picking in the top ten of the draft they have some good young players but they are not deep and they are crippled with their front office and coaches

All of this offseason drama is really hampering what I thought could be a good season. I had us at 10 wins too.

I'm baffled by the people who hang on every word the Joneses say. They know darn well Pollard is no Zeke but do you expect them to say? Gushing over Zeke and how they need him only gives the holdout more traction. Relax.

They can say the kid has talent and we are confident he can play in the NFL and maybe even be great. It sounds stupid to come out after a few series in the first preseason and claim he can be "the man". Plus you aren't doing the kid any favors by declaring him to be something he hasn't proven yet. Encourage him, yes; don't crown him.

I don't know how they do that and contract language has to be approved by the NFL. It's just a risk factor they have to either take or not.

I think it’s not so much about the language but rather, how much they were willing to give him in guaranteed money, etc.

He didn’t even do that in college. He averaged less than 4 carries a game at Memphis. The most carries he ever had in a game was 10. Again, that’s not the kind of player he is.
To be fair, the RB duties at Memphis were being divvied up.

Only way the Cowboys have a top 10 pick is if Dak gets hurt and misses most of the season.

Pollard didn’t even have the “workhorse” label in college. It’s an absolute joke to consider Pollard as anything beyond an occasional change of pace weapon a la Lance Dunbar. Pollard is not an NFL RB designed to “carry the load”. If Zeke’s holdout lasts deep into the season, the running game is in trouble.

Besides....Jerry is a great salesman and business man. Not a great NFL GM. What JJ says is about 80% non-sense when it comes to the football side of things.

Just because a back hasn’t carried the load in college doesn’t mean he can’t do it. Steve Sewell was a wishbone RB at OU in the early 80s. He really didn’t get many carries and spent a majority of his time blocking.

If I remember correctly he was drafted in the first round by the Denver Broncos and was Denver’s bell cow back for several years.

Weber was Ohio States Zeke replacement and he doesn’t look half as good as Pollard. I’m just saying you can’t rule it out.

I think if Zeke holds out into the regular season there is a very good chance Pollard is the lead back.

“Pollard’s been the talk of training camp”....like that’s any kind of indicator of future success. Remember the “great camp” had by Beau Morgan in the 90s? Brandon Weeden threw “the prettiest ball”?

It is literally laugh out loud funny that JJ and SJ are acting like Pollard is anything beyond a rookie 4th round RB who was drafted to probably have 60-80 touches over an entire season.

Marion Barber III cough.

It’s situations like these that truly illustrates what a hindrance and total football idiot our owner and GM is.

All he knows to do is promote and sell his product. Such an embarrassment.

So many posters here think Zeke is irreplaceable. That's total nonsense. We don't need the league-leading rusher to have a RB that keeps this offense going. Pollard, Jackson, and Morris as a committee are more than capable of filling the offense's needs at RB. Combined they are still cheaper than the money Zeke wants to be paid. Zeke can go to hell and rot.

LOL....Jerry not stupid. This was his way of preparing the public, we may not see Zeke first few games. Notice he didn't when or how much of "the load". No way in hell you trust your running for an entire with season Alfred Morris and Pollard.

MB3 had 207 carries as a junior and 231 as a senior. Pollard had 139 his entire college career.

What some fans are missing with Elliott’s absence is it’s not just his production that needs replacing which is an easier feat. It’s what his level of talent does to defenses keeping them honest since Daks passing ability doesn’t.

While cumulatively our RB by committee is probably capable of producing some yardage behind this OL , there’s not anyone who puts defenses back on their heels. They’ll be able to stack the LOS and force Dak to beat them over the top.
