i'd not go, or suggest my son not go, to cabo during his dispute.
Fair enough, I would do what he's doing or advise my son to do the same because of the unique situation with this team and salary situations.
Players can't come to camp and then walk out, they have to hold out from the get go. I don't really like it but I get the contract situation the owners pull as well. The only thing guaranteed is that guarantee.
The fact is the NFL changed dramatically to the business side of the sport and this pending CBA may have some agents twitchy with a sense of urgency. It is unusual for a player to do this with two years left but it is possible that he would be one of the last players getting optioned. That could be gone and the tag affected in this negotiation.
I don't like either. Sign the player or let him walk.
And I'd bet you Elliott isn't thinking about this as some are, prorate that signing bonus over the 4 years. He's already compared his numbers to the higher paid RB's and that bonus doesn't creep into this season, he's seeing it as playing for 3M while the DE plays for 21M, the QB 30M+ and the WR for 17-18M, 14M at the minimum. He is going to take more punishment, in a clock is ticking position, than all 3 of those players combined.
I think some forgot what caused Bell to hold out for the whole season, it was the same thing the Cowboys are talking about doing with their QB/WR.
