Believe me, I’m no Jerry Jones fan and I don’t support owners blindly but it’s not like these athletes don’t make their own choices. Why should I feel bad for a guy that is making millions, willingly, for playing a game and putting their bodies on the line? There are several more dangerous jobs that people do everyday and get paid pennies compared to these guys.No more guarantee than any other employer has after they make you an offer for employment. While you are working for that company you get a weekly check whether you suck at your job or not, right? Same deal.
I work for a corporation that sets certain financial goals and if I don't achieve those goals they can and will replace me with someone who will.
I don't understand why folks are so worried about the owners who are profiting billions every year. They're gonna be okay, I just know it. Players go out and destroy their bodies for a few short years and get tossed to the street when they can no longer do it, so they try to get as much as they can for as long as they can, and no matter what, the owners still turn profits...so what's the problem?
You know what would settle this, pay them on a yearly basis. One year contracts only and the following season they can go to the next higher bidder if they choose. I don’t understand the point in a contract if it’s not going to be honored. I also don’t like the selfishness that these players, especially Zeke with 2 years left, show by sitting out.
To me, by supporting these guys sitting out and breaking their contracts it seems like you’re supporting the player more than the team, is that right?
