I didn't say he was worth highest paid RB money, although he is at least in the ballpark if not for his stupid off the field behavior. I merely said we cannot expect Pollard, or a committee of our current players, to replace what we get from Zeke.

Then the option is to overpay him. That’s the point of the thread. Either make Zeke the highest paid RB or get Pollard and whoever ready for some work. That’s what this situation has boiled down to.

The point of the thread was to not get too wrapped up in the expectation that Pollard can replace Zeke, Obviously the team has to get the other guys prepared to play.

I don’t think they need the most rushing yards in the league to win championships. Have they won anything? They need to be smart and productive and effective in all areas. I think they can do that. That doesn’t mean they have to replace zekes production 100% they just have to do a solid enough job to win games.

No one thinks pollards getting 300+ carries. That’s ridiculous to begin with.

I don't know if people think that, but there appear to be some that think with Pollard as the primary RB the running game won't miss a beat.

Actually, that is not the point of the thread, but it is a likely outcome. I am not an advocate for 8 figure RB salaries. They have too narrow a window of peak productivity. Zeke is still under contract for two years. He is worth more than he is being paid. If he won't accept a fair extension, then, as others have alluded to, the Cowboys should shop him and seek first round compensation to start.

The Owner/GM does should not be sniping at Zeke with foolish sound bites, hitching his wagon to a talented, but certainly untested rookie who hasn't carried the load for a team since probably HS. Pollard is looking like a good draft pick who could be an intriguing compliment to Zeke, but it's laughable to put him in the same category as Zeke, and the Cowboys have nothing as far as a committee platoon at RB after removing Zeke from the depth chart.

The offense, flawed as it may be, is built much like the 90s Cowboys and needs Zeke's production. Pollard will not be stepping in, handling that load and maintaining the same level of productivity. Dak would also have to become a much more prolific passer without Zeke and it remains to be seen if he is ready for that leap.

I think THEY can be productive. Pollard and.. ? . I don’t expect or think we need the most yards in football. But I don’t expect some type of clueless circus act either like the offense simply can’t function! That seems to be the underlying theme here. It’s either match zekes production or you suck!! lol No middle ground. there’s talent here and excellent talent on the line. Along with a D that can make plays.

Apples and oranges. Stop being so consumed in making your point that you must ignore mine.

Rewarding Zeke's bad behavior will only result in more bad behavior in a compounded fashion with other rookies outplaying their rookie contract. That's Jaylon Smith, Byron Jones, LVE and so on... The precedent to holdout if you outperform your rookie contract must be squashed now or it will destroy the team in the preceding seasons.

The window that you are talking about is not in jeopardy just because we allow Zeke to sit out. We have a whole roster full of talent. Stop acting like Chicken Little, screaming that the sky is falling without Zeke. It's simply not the case.

I'm well aware that 1 player will not make or break the entire season...However if there was ever one player the Cowboys could not afford to lose it would be Zeke...Zeke keeps the chains moving that allow our Defense to rest. You thinking Dallas can keep this core or players for the next 4-5 years just by not paying Zeke is shortsighted. BTW the WINDOW is real and for Dallas its NOW...while we have all this talent. I would trade 1 Championship for 3 years of rebuilding at this point. Also, just because we have all these good players does not guarantee anything.

I have no delusions about Pollard.

But IMO, I am hoping he's great and great mid-round gem because I think there's a chance we are rolling those first 2-3-4 games without Zeke.

You place far too much importance on Zeke's presence on the team. But that's okay, we are allowed to disagree on that. The FO will have no problem managing the talent for many years to come. They will keep every player they want to keep. It has nothing to do with not paying Zeke, they are paying Zeke and have paid Zeke guaranteed money.

Can we try something?

Zeke ranked 18 (stats not some guy's opinion) in 2018 of all RBs, - and was highest in fumbles at 6. Just sayin...............lots of other Rbs could replace him if we could have anyone we wanted. I'm done with the childish bollocks when he's still on contract. It disrespects the entire team.

Now can we dispense with the Zeke threads and ignore this single player and concentrate on the team and winning the SP with or without this fool, I really don't care what he does.
