Twitter: Zeke's agent speaks out

This only applies if you report to camp and leave. The five day letter doesn't apply to holdouts who don't report to camp at all.

Thanks. This makes more sense to me. I don't remember ever seeing it used before with a holdout.

You’re right on those points.

I think what @khiladi is saying though, is that Jerry didn’t just do those things out of the kindness of his heart. He did it because Zeke is his best player and he wanted to win.

Let’s be honest, if Zeke was just an average RB and pulled the same stuff he has, he would have been cut already. That’s the reality of the NFL.

But Zeke isn’t average. He is one of the best. Which is why he gets such a long leash. Because Jerry (and all of us fans) want to win.

Also, Zeke is paid well below market for an elite RB.

In fact, per Spotrac, 432 NFL players make more $$$ than Zeke.

That doesn't matter, Zeke signed the deal. He knew the terms. He chose to be selfish over team, so yeah he said Dallas Who?.

CBA doesn’t give rookies much say in their first contract.

But Zeke has a say now.

Well, Zeke chooses not to be at camp while both Dak and Coop are putting in work with their teammates while their deals get done. On the other hand, shut up Jerry.
Well during the SF game a ex DL was a commentator, and he said he wouldnt appreciate a team mate being in cabo while he and rest of team
were grinding it in oxnard.
So some team mates may not care for elliot not being there with them, but they cant say anything publicly.
I wonder what the dallas OL guys really think about it . If they dont like it , they may not block all that well for him when he comes back.
If Pollard starts game one they may go all out to show Pollard can do as good as elliot.

This next game # 3 should be starters against starters, so we will get a idea of how Pollard will do.

I think LVE did a hell of a job as a rookie and outperformed the pay he gets for where he was drafted, would you support him sitting out this year? When does it stop? When exactly do you think it’s ok for a player not to show up for work when he’s under contract to do so? Honest question.
yeah and add some others to that like murray and dak who were both vastly underpaid then used as constant starters. but neither one held out for more $.
Murray never even said anything , and then the cowboys low balled him.

And it was Murrays option to leave for more money, he also couldn’t stay healthy his first two years and didn’t play a full season until his last year with us.

Only if teams also can't cut a player under contract. Never gonna happen.

The NBA and MLB operate like this. Why can't the NFL? All contracts are fully guaranteed. This type of **** is undermining the entire NFL at this point. Another black eye for Emperor Goodell.

Well I have to disagree there, the first year he didnt take over as starting RB until some other RB got hurt, he was playing good, and had a valid injury.
but regardless he would not have had a full season because he wasnt a starter! He was on the bench lol.
He played
13 games
10 .....I think this was where the giant player alligator rolled while holding murrays foot. That would mess up anyones leg.
14
16 with the cowboys, that is good for an nfl player
then after when he was supposedly wore out
15
16
15 games so again pretty good.

about the money , dallas offered 20-24 mil phil offered 40 mill with I think 27 G , so there was no way he could turn that down.
That was his main shot at a good contract, after 4 years of playing for peanuts, less than 1 mil a year.
No failed drug tests no suspensions, no off field incidents, started working out with witten to be in better shape for the season.

Cowboys should have gave him the contract they instead gave to crawford.

I’m not saying don’t extend Zeke.

I wish they would come to terms on a deal already. I really do.

And who held a gun to Zeke's head to sign that contract that has two years left on the deal and he's not abiding by, I don't recall anyone doing that......

Compared to other RBs, he's paid very well...even on a rookie contract..
Getting picked 4th overall helps a ton.
Now Dak on the other hand.....

That isn't true though. Zeke is getting $7.9M in total compensation in 2019.

Zeke elected to take his signing bonus cash all up front, but it is really a $4M/yr signing bonus.

Unless the Cowboys wrote the contract in a super backwards way, Zeke will owe the Cowboys $4M back from the signing bonus if he doesn't play this year.

That's the cap for 2019?

Cause his base is 3.x million.

Less than Adam Vinetari.

And the other 431 NFL players who make more $$$ than Zeke. Per Spotrac.

**** Zeke and his disrespect.

Is this the same guy who has already been paid jumping the queue to get paid again in front of his best pal Dak who has been paid that of a 4th rounder.

Makes me sick especially when you learn that’s Dallas is a income tax haven. I just don’t get it

He's a POS. That pretty much covers it. I'd be very pleased if he was traded. The most unlikeable turd in a Cowboy uniform. Jerry should just move on.

I read the last line - there is no such thing as "fully honored" it is the same as "honored" meaning abiding by the terms. If you don't understand that the signing bonus is the Owners poison just like the remaining years at contracted rate is the players poison, I don't know what to tell you!
Sorry but you are missing my entire point, and that may be my fault as I may not have made it clear how I wrote it. My point was that fan's expectations, fan's expectations, are for players to play out the length of their contracts and never hold out while having no problem with cutting them or trading them the minute they don't feel the player is worth it.
