Yeah, they both had one gimpy wheel too, huh? It’s OK to lay off your boy Zeke's jock every now and then. We get he’s your fave.

Zeke led the league in rushing 2 out of 3 years. How much more useful can you get?

We have one of the truly elite players in the game, but you think we should trade him for an unnammed DT because he made you mad in training camp.

Every company in the world builds its fortunes off the labor of their employees and the employees will never and should never be in control of how a company does business. NFL players are hired labor plain and simple. If they don't like the pay or situation they are free to not play football, but you signed a contract for a certain amount of years. You recived a signing bonus based on that contract. Jerry would be a very rich man with or without the Cowboys.

Bull****.

Every employee in the world should have the right to demand a salary that they are worth.

Would any of us be happy to be undepaid because it benefitted our company's EBITDA? Would any of us take less money per year so that our department could hire more people? Would any of us be happy with our salary when we have performed above and beyod it? Hell no.

As fans, we cheer for the players to play the sport and then expect that they have some ultra-loyalty to a franchise or its fans or their teammates that should supercede their right to negotiate for the money they're worth, when in fact they are employees like the rest of us who, if they don't advocate for themselves, will be taken advantage of by the people who make the real money

What's it going to be then, eh?

I think Jones are desperately trying to put Jaylon Smith in class of Dak, Zeke & Cooper and showing he took team friendly deal. There is only one problem, Jaylon only has 1 year of real significant production. I will even go as far and say the best LB on team didn't get a contract extension today.
Well, you could say that Prescott is living off his rookie season in a way. But overall, your point is noted.

That's not how the world works. I mean sure this generation thanks you can just demand whatever you want and cry foul when you don't get it. How about be a man and honor the contract you willingly signed. Honor it then you can move on to another company/team.

Lawrence was in bad faith with the surgery - poor form.
The time for players to get their cut is at the NFLPA and the CBA. They are effectively thumbing their nose at the agreement when holding out of agreed upon deals. That is bad faith. If they don't like the deal, don't sign the CBA. Individual players either should enjoy the benefits of the union or opt out. If you are in the union, you stick to the agreed upon deals that were set in the CBA - like the 5th year option for rookies!

Poor form? Haha. You use what you got in negotiations. Someone leaking that Dak wanted $40M a year, which they deny, isn't poor form? You strike while the iron's hot and use what you got. The team sure will. If players are supposed to abide by the CBA then why do teams negotiate with players and give them contracts a la Aaron Donald? Why not say, "sorry but we can't deal with you until later even if you hold out?" The teams set the precedent and players follow.

Some of this boils down to regular joes not wanting to see millionaire players squabble over more millions and begrudging another's earnings because it makes them feel "eclipsed." So being the best and wanting to be paid like the best is now some moral failing that then makes a regular joe superior in some way at least. They just make sure they pay their light bill while players can keep the lights on 24/7. Lol.

That whole holding his shoulder surgery hostage, as a negotiating bargaining chip?,,, as stupendously stupid as it appeared while being viewed from the "fans" perspective?,,, it was a classic ploy ,forever to be found in the fondly remembered halls of the Hilariously Idiotic Angle.

Did it work?

Yes, Jerry won't pay his stars what they're worth, and will expect them to take deals for the sake of the team, meanwhile he and his sons rake in billions of dollars on the backs of these very players, but sure, it is Dak and Zeke who are the greedy ones
You act like they have the option of paying them out of their own pocket. You do realize there is a salary cap now and they have a team to run and other players to pay, right? By not paying Zeke doesn’t save them a dime.

They are trying to form the best TEAM possible under the circumstances, and unfortunately for Zeke, his position is the most expendable of the three, we have a top O line which is a great benefit to any RB, there is a deep RB class next year and we have a lot of studs and/or positions that will need to be paid in the near future.

I’d rather suffer one year without the Ewok, pay a FA RB on the cheap (ie Ajayi, CJ anderson style) or draft one next year and beef up our defense to an elite level then be handcuffed financially by an entitled, egotistical, selfish Ewok who is a liability off the field and who multiple SB winning teams have won without.

Or some of us want to see the team win and have seen all but 1 team in the past twenty years do it without the leagues leading rusher. We’ve also seen several of the last SB winning teams do it with journeyman RB’s behind worse O lines. We’ve also seen, and most of recognize, how RB’s are more prone to injury and therefore don’t want to tie up a good portion of the cap on one who is a head case and has been a distraction since day 1, especially with a deep draft class next year.

So the Rams/Jets screwed up by paying their RB’s the most amount of money for RB’s at the time and now we’re expected to make the same mistakes? So if a team gave Blake Bortles a 5 year 250 million dollar contract than that means we should give Dak more because he’s better? Nope.

Did you know that less money was paid to running backs in the NFL in 2018 than in 2008 even though the salary cap has gone up by 50%?

Jerry should just tell Zeke show up or never play football again.

No and I don’t care. They make plenty of money and not only has their position become more devalued on the field but they seem easier to replace.

I believe O lineman used to be one of the least paid and now they are getting more. A lot of is cyclical depending on how the game is being played, rules, talent in college, etc. It can be very cyclical, too bad Zeke is a RB, wah wah.

Gotta be honest.

I’d rather sign Byron Jones than Zeke.

And I love Zeke the football player. He’s awesome. I just think when you take into account off-field and leadership and impact of a shut-down CB vs an elite RB in today's game, I’d rather have the CB.

Especially if you can get a return for Zeke in a trade.
Byron and Maliek... but I kind of want to trade Byron both because of the injury concerns and because he plays the ball SOOOOO conservatively. Zero interceptions even in his 91.1 PFF year. His stock will never be higher, though. I'm kind of liking the idea of starting Olumba and Jackson on the outsides and having Awuzie and Lewis in the slots with Brown possibly being dealt for like a 4th as well.

Ridiculous. These players/agents are trying to take advantage of jerry..... they think this is the old cowboys giving out stupid contracts.

This is the agents spearheading stupid demands.

Super Bowls are won from the front office. If Dak and zeke wanna be this unreasonable let me walk. Good luck getting 25 mil from a team if you Dak.

Jerry Jones loves his players but jerry Jones the businessman isn’t going to get walked over.

I still look to trade him if I’m Jerry. You don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Zeke’ll be lucky if he doesn’t wind up with his butt getting shipped out.

See that whole expression is rooted in a dog taking food from his master. The dog does nothing to earn the food you just give it to him because you are being kind. If the dog were to leave home every morning and come home with a bag of cash you'd probably be inclined to give him as much food as he wanted.

I'm tired of all this talk of what Jerry has done for Zeke. Jerry has benefited every bit as much from his relationship with Zeke as a player as the other way around. Are the Cowboys playing in more primetime games this year than any other team because Jerry is fun to look at?

Nah.

We'll take the elite RB averaging 100+ yards per game.

Just saying....
