:hammer:I'm in the minority once again....go figure. but I think DG is right. Luck completely hung the Colts out to dry. Fine...If your going to retire... your within your right......but-your the face of the franchise. Have the respect to at least to do it in a timely fashion as to not wreck so many other peoples lives.

IMHO...it's was a selfish move.

You gotta take a step back and look @ who your dealing with. The guy was a privileged kid from the day he was born. Son of a professional QB... Got a free ride to Stanford...so he's had it given to him on a silver platter his whole life.

And now that he's having to battle to stay healthy...Just goes to show he was mentally weak to begin with.

Funny this is coming from another QB that quit on his team as well. I've never bought the Aikman back injury thing. If anything...that was his excuse to get out of the Jerry circus ...while saving face @ the same time.
No, they cut Aikman because he was due a 10M bonus for being on the roster in March.

Aikman originally thought he might play again.

no fan of the weasel Gotleib. But Troy was triggered. He was right too. I think it all should have been handled better. My question is...and the colt fans should ask..did Irsay know this ahead of time, and if so, when ? That's a whole other can of worms. Were the fans duped?

I honestly dont think they needed to be duped. The colts still have a good team and Id be suprised if they didnt compete for the division. Im sure this takes some luster off of their SB dreams, but fans are suckers for their team.

Don’t really see why Troy is so triggered. Gottlieb isn’t saying Luck doesn’t have the right to retire. He’s just saying that this is a very 2019 thing that we’re witnessing.
Today it is all le rage to be outraged. Some shrug it off, Mateys, other carry it around as a hurt.

Except that’s not what Gottlieb argued. He didn’t say the timing was bad.

He basically said Luck quit because he’s soft and doesn’t want to work.

That’s idiotic.

Luck got booed out of the stadium and he should have. What kind of pathetic ***** quits 2 weeks before the season begins because of an ankle sprain?

If he wasnt willing to risk an ankle sprain he should have retired in the offseason.
That was harsh.

There were ummm, rumors, back then that Norv Turner worked behind the scenes to promise Troy a great position in San Diego when he took that job. Troy forced his release and then found out the SD front office didn't back Norv, so it didn't come together. Jerry decided to release Troy to take all the salary cap pain in one year, the only time in franchise history that the team actually was in "cap hell".

His heart may have been in it in the off-season. The narrative is to paint him to be done traitor which is sick to me. This is a guy who has shown he can play in this league. Pretty much a shoe in to make the playoffs...for him to retire must mean he’s not right mentally and to know that and walk away should be commended regardless of timing.

Traitor? A little dramatic dont you think?

I respect your.............."its all good bra"............"pass that joint"..........frame of mind.

I look at it from the perspective of a Colts fan. This guy is going to be remembered as a softy. I have zero respect for the way he went about this. He bailed.

Lol, thats not how the nfl works. You just never know. They are still a fantastic team. For all we know they'll have Dak under center next year.

He's been hinting @ retirement for 2 years now...It's not a secret in the inner circle of the NFL.
