Message to Cooper and Dak. You should have hold out to.

I was just thinking this. Dak Prescott would be a rich man right now if he did. Jerry would have caved real quick, and Dak has precedence to do so. Last year of his deal, lowest paid starting QB in the nfl.

Focusing on the now led to two and a half decades of no Super Bowls for the Cowboys.

What do the Patriots do with running backs? Do they pay them top money? Ever?

How many teams with Top 3 or 4 paid running backs have won the Super Bowl in the salary cap era?

Running back is a position that Super Bowl winners do NOT overspend on. It is a position where there is a ton of talent available at bargain prices. Zeke is great, but he's got serious off field issues and paying him will mean less money for linebackers and linemen - and you can't win a Super Bowl without good linebackers and linemen.

Look at that tweet above, see what the top paid running backs are doing. The return on investment is a (bad) joke.
OMFG NOONE Is or can be the Patriots can we put down that Narrative. tell Dak take Tom and Brees money because NE doesnt pay anyone market value and have a hOF Coach and QB,, thats the constant.. The rams paid Gurley and were in the SB, paid Donald and will pay goff , have some other expensive players..it happens..yes they were gifted a SB in some ways that but throw the NE bs out the window.. it is one time EXCEPTION in the cap ERA, they've been in league of their own with bunch of teams in their division that were nearly GIMMMMES for what 8 easy wins :)) that doesnt happen often..it can not really be duplicated..
remind Dak and Aamri of this NE WAY.. oh Tank and Jaylon needed reminders but got paid,

I mean they cut DEs ends as well LBs and others they just arent the same DNA makeup as the rest of the league..

Yup, they should all hold out. Hopefully Dak holds out, Cooper holds out, Jones holds out...would love to see LVE hold out. I mean why wait for 3 years, start sitting after 2. What’s the worst that can happen? They’ll either pay you, trade you or you miss out on a year and get a fat contract down the line.

To be fair. Players literally cant sign a new contract until after their 3rd year.

You can't sit after 2 years on a rookie deal. It is negotiated in the cba players can get more money after year 3. We did it with all our all pro lineman why should zeke not get paid?

I don’t think he is going to be in football shape missing the padded practice of TC. But he will be more effective than Pollard. He has to get in rhythm but will get some of that down this week in practice. If he fumbles the ball after getting paid fans are going to blame him and his agent. Heck of he don’t get 100+ yards and score a td he will get crap. Lol. I see him getting 10-15 touches and a few passes.
its a marathon not sprint the picture is painted over 16agmes not just one.. people who nit pick games to fit their Narrative just want to win some sport of debate around here.. Zekes worth is 16 games plus the playoffs being upright and available for all 16..

Pollard will help take some mileage off Zeke and be more fresh for a playoff run.. If Pollard is as good as some of you THINK he will be , its great things for Zeke and the Team.. having a 1-2 punch is not a negative and weve missed that for a long time...Murray wishes his backups could have saved his legs..

Rookies aren't eligible for a new contract until after 3 years, but keep on emoting.

How many Top 3 or 4 paid running backs have won the Super Bowl in the salary cap era?

How many teams with Top 3 or 4 paid running backs remained Super Bowl contenders?

Running back is one of the least valuable positions on the field because there are so many good, productive running backs available - and available for cheap. Spending a ton of money on a running back is foolish because it takes away money from other positions that are harder to fill with productive players.

I have been thinking about the Zeke situation a lot, trying to come up with some real out of the box solutions, some revolutionary idea that has never been tried before. I think I came up with a genius solution.

We'll trade Zeke to the Vikings for their 1st and 2nd draft picks over the next three years. We can use the picks to build a dynasty capable of winning around three Super Bowls. Even though it's never been tried before I have a real good feeling about this idea.

Bingo.

Zeke is a great player. But he plays a position where the return never seems to match the investment. Teams win all the time hodge podging the TB spot.

And LOL if we sign Zeke and pay him more than Gurley literally days after Jerry basically said we don't need to spend a lot of money on a TB to compete for a SB.

cant do 4 cause Zeke has only played 3 seasons

Zeke in 3 years .......868 att 4048 yards 4.7y/a 101.2 y/game

Emmitt first 3 years..979 att 4213 yards 4.26 y/a 87.7 y/game

Dont think you will like this lol

You also need to include catches and Super Bowl rings.

A lot goes into it. If Dak gets paid a lot that probably means he improved this year and is a better player. Gallup may develop, we keep drafting well and other guys will step up

If Dak plays really well then that means we are paying our TB and our QB elite money.

That's kind of silly.

Not necessarily -- so far, Dak and Amari appear be more reasonable than Zeke, although, negotiating is never an easy process.

The simple fact that Dak and Amari were willing to await their turn, minus the additional drama of holding out, indicates as much.

I still don’t understand why so many fans are stressing about the contracts so much.

The key to maintaining a competitive team, is and will remain good drafting.

If the cowboys keep drafting well, they will remain competitive. Good drafting will keep a consistent flow of cheap and young talent to offset the highly paid veterans.

If the cowboys don’t draft well. They aren’t going to be good irregardless of whether they extend Zeke or Dak or Amari.

Completely agree- this stuff just generates excitement. Jerry knows this. The Cowboys have been talked about more than any team in the NFL and that will continue.
