Heck, let's start a rumor that Zeke, Dak and Amari all are signing Sunday the 1st. That should give everyone enough threads for a life time.

I still don’t understand why so many fans are stressing about the contracts so much.

The key to maintaining a competitive team, is and will remain good drafting.

If the cowboys keep drafting well, they will remain competitive. Good drafting will keep a consistent flow of cheap and young talent to offset the highly paid veterans.

If the cowboys don’t draft well. They aren’t going to be good irregardless of whether they extend Zeke or Dak or Amari.

Yea it's not like we can do anything about it. I never understood fans getting so upset over contracts.

Why give him a deal at all if he has no leverage?

No leverage would mean Zeke shows up with no deal and plays on his current deal.

Zeke’s leverage = we are a playoff caliber team with him

Without him, see 2017
Yea if Zeke has no leverage there would be no reason to even negotiate with him. Tell him to sit on it. lol

This is disappointing. I wanted to see Dak take us to the big dance with his arm.

So now we are simplifying it to Zeke alone should win us games?

Thats not how this game works.

Adding an elite player to an offense that has an average/below average Quarterback will only benefit this team.

No, that’s what you are doing. I am saying Zeke is not a need, the trenches as a whole is needed.

YOU are claiming Zeke is the difference between us being in or out of playoffs. I am saying this is absolute BS and Zeke is a luxury to be had when you have a solidified offensive line and defensive line.

Again, your point makes no sense if we needed to give up a first round pick just to have a chance at the playoffs last year

He clearly isn’t the difference maker. Two important games last year we won didn’t happen due to Zeke, but Dak finding Amari Cooper on 3 explosive plays. I don’t value Cooper and I don’t like Dak, but you can see how I view the RB position - it impacts the win W/L very little.

I heard two nights ago that Zeke is back in Dallas and a deal would be done soon. Just wasn’t sure if it’d happen this weekend or by Tuesday. Zeke loves playing football and loves playing for the Dallas Cowboys (and money) too much to miss any time. https://twitter.com/adamschefter/status/1167837942687121409 …

Here's the news Dallas has wanted: Talks between the Cowboys and RB Ezekiel Elliott are intensifying, with both sides aiming to wrap up a new deal this weekend, league sources tell ESPN.

My original report on @1053thefan last Friday with @1053SS and @rjchoppy was that it would be done by this weekend at the latest. I’m just glad this will all be over soon so we can all shut up and focus on football

We knew this was coming. I can’t wait to see these numbers. Gonna be more than 14. But what’s the guaranteed and signing bonus.. The total number is gonna be jacked up to look good..

Man, I don't know. I think all of this is piss in a pot crazy but hey, I've watched the whole thing and believe it or not, it happened.

They've already offered him, according to rumor, a contract that was on par with what Gurley signed. I can't imagine that they would offer less then that but I never thought I'd see them do that to begin with. I really never thought I'd see a player treat that like it was an insult so yeah, I don't know anything anymore glim.

LOL......

Yes, but I am talking about Zeke.

I don’t care? Outside of Zeke’s off the field problems, Zeke’s play isn’t why I criticize him, it’s the position he plays

I’m not putting down Zeke to prop up anyone - I am pointing out how devalued, and for good reason, the RB position is.

Coop isn't being punished. He doesn't want a deal now. Everyone has been reporting it.
He wants to play and then ask for top dollar.
His group aren't even approaching the FO now.
And next year he will be labeled the greedy one. lol

Can’t wait for Jerry’s press conference where he tries to make a crap sandwich smell like potpourri.

“Well, uh, we uhhhh...came to an agreement that is great for both the uh...Dallas Cowboys and uh Ezekiel Elliott. We’re now uh...uh..focused on getting back to uh playing football and winning a Super Bowl”.

Those plays happened because Cooper saw man to man coverage because they had an extra man in the box to stop Zeke.

With him in 2018, we went 3-5 and needed to give up our first round pick. We also lost to Seattle when he returned in 2017. We got to the playoffs last year because our defense was top 10.
A lot of people don't understand those things.

Zeke didn't make the difference last year. Cooper did. And the defense.

Zeke is a great back, but there are a lot of very good to great backs who would be VERY productive behind that line. If you've got an elite line, like the Cowboys do, you don't need an elite running back - just a very good one. You can then save that elite running back money and buy depth - and it's depth (and coaching) that wins Super Bowls, not stars.

That is why Zeke wants his money now RB's don't last long in the NFL !
