You should take your own advice, Hurns got nothing when he was cut 1 year after signing a 2 year contract. If you are going to argue your point so strongly then attach a link for Pete sake, instead of "I believe" or "i don't recall."

https://overthecap.com/player/allen-hurns/3408/

This is a link to over the cap. If you look at it, you see that in the league year 2019, there is a cap hit of 500K against the Hurns contract. At the very least, he got 500K. It also indicates a Guaranteed portion of 250K. Hurns was paid according to the terms of his contract, which is what we have all been saying.

Naw that goes against your case, a cap hit and him getting actual money are two different things.

I figured it would be slinking. He got paid, which is what I said. Clearly money was charged to the 2019 cap so he got paid. The contract was not violated. It was paid according to the terms. I knew you would backslide. Don't ever ask me to do your homework again.

You dont what your talking about, the terms were 2.5 million in 2018 and 2019, how much will they pay him this year? That's what I thought.

It's your homework and you get a big fat "F".

Starve Zeke now, Jerry. Time to show who's boss and who is the employee.
...then I'd suspect you may not witness the Boys hoisting the Trophy. That mindset is very scary. Hope you're self-employed or a business owner. Trade Zeke! and hello another 20+ years of mediocrity.

OMG. We've said, over and over that Guaranteed money is what contracts are really about. Contracts are written with lots of clauses and incentives designed to induce better play. Those aren't guaranteed. Those are things players get paid for, if they meet the incentives. Contracts specifically say that players get paid, if they make the roster. How you gonna pay a player who doesn't make the team? You are trying to slink out of what you said. He got paid according to the terms of the contract. This is the problem with you. You know you are wrong but you will not admit it because you think you are somehow going to save face or some such. Everybody on this board can read. They see it. Say what you want but you are not a stand up dude. I wasted my time on you and your request. You did exactly what I said you would and now you want to beat the dead horse into a smelly husk. You do you but don't engage me again. You are a sink whole that people will end up wasting time on. I am not interested in that.

Yeah, it's easy to play hardball when you have nothing at stake. I'm sure the cowboys can win games without Zeke but they cant win the sb without him. They just dont have the passing game to scare opposing defenses. If the cowboys had a Brees or Rivers at qb then that would be different.

Point well-taken.....sounds like Zeke's agent should read this to JJ at the negotiating table. We'd have Zeke in tomorrow.

You never showed where they paid him this year, stop with the temper tantrum and just enjoy your day out of school, good luck in your 8th grade classes this year. I'm done.

Zeke out played his rookie contract so it’s understandable he wants to get paid knowing that an RBs career is very short. With the workload he’s received the past three seasons he may be done by the time he’s 28 or 29. Can’t really blame him for wanting a new contract, I just don’t like the way he went about it by attending all the offseason work but not showing up for training camp.

Hey, if players did things solely to keep fans "comfortable" they wouldn't have much at all. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. So you might as well do.

An RB needs to get their money when they can because they can hit a wall at any time. Zeke accounts for a large percentage of our offense and the workload is mounting on him. An injury or injuries are going to start popping up with him sooner or later. Once the injuries start coming he’s not getting a big pay day. Emmitt got paid because he was productive and he stayed healthy. Emmitt signed his rookie deal in 1990 and received his new deal in 1993.

this is irrelevant.
zeke has to come back game 11 unless he wants to lose 1 year.

He doesnt care about the accrued year if he gets a new contract in the end and reporting anytime this year would prevent that. If he has not reported by then I don't expect him to report.

What other way could he have done it? This is a serious question.

Another silly Zeke post. NFL teams do not honor contracts. They cut players before the contract ends, so why should players abide by contracts especially a running back when teams use them and throw them away.

Could have started his hold out during OTA’s and mini camp. We got no indication of any possible hold out until a few days before training camp. He didn’t give us much time to hammer out a new deal with him. It was pretty much a surprise to everyone when he didn’t show up for training camp. Everyone was predicting he would show up.
