In most successful negotiations neither side gets everything.
If my man ABQ agrees, I have full confidence things are straight.LOL......
It's a good deal and I'm happy to have it. I hope he breaks all the records, stays out of trouble and reaches every single bonus trigger.
So the team didn't gain anything is what you're saying?
1. It's debatable if he's even the #2. Most non-cowboys fans would say he isnt.
2. No you don't have to eventually pay him, that's the point.
3. Yay! We saved almost nothing compared to just franchising him twice.
That's the spirit!!!He will never play those last two years for the cowboys.
You're focusing too much on the theatrics instead of the actual numbers.Right- set a new standard for RBs.
Give the player everything he wanted despite tough talk from the team.
Player got to miss training camp.
Sure sounds like a win for the team?
The team gained the services of one of the top RB's in the NFL for at least 4 years.

Exactly. I think some fans like any empathy for players. Expect them to just play for pennies and cut bait whenever the team pleases.
It is if we had a 5000 yard passer. We don't, we need a stud back in this offense. Not an awful structure but paying a TB that much is still insane in today’s NFL.
That's referring to year 3 and year 4, which he will see.He will never play those last two years for the cowboys.
Ha ha ha! Buenos suerte mi amigo! Finally over! My Wife has pretty much had it with me and this Zeke contract stuff. Maybe now I can move back into the bedroom.
It's all relative. RBs get pennies, WRs get dimes and QBs get quarters. What the hell kind of nonsense is this? Play for pennies? Dude's ALREADY on his rookie deal made more money than 95% of people(probably even higher) will ever see over their ENTIRE LIVES....
play for pennies...hahaha.
That we already had the services of for at least four years, just at a higher cost.
Again, what did we gain?

Balance is key. A stud RB with a multi-purpose backup and a QB that can go both ways on you (not being dirty)... we're talking imbalance with the right playcaller. It is if we had a 5000 yard passer. We don't, we need a stud back in this offense.
So I just did a quick number crunch on what it would have cost to keep him under his current deal (which he was holding out from) and then to franchise tag him for 2021 and 2022. He was set to cost $17 million on the cap for the next two years, and then cost to tag him for two years would have been at a minimum $15 million a year, and likely a lot more by then.
Add that up, and it's at least $48 million, with absolutely no guarantees afterwards. This deal pays virtually the same thing and gives the club four option years after 2022.
So how did they "lose"?
I am leaning to a song and dance that was affirmed from the beginning so he could take less wear and tear from preseason.I agree with Bob Sturm..
IF this was the best deal he could get why did it take until today to get it done?
They knew in February he was holding out.
Whats the deal with Dak also? Wentz and Goff signed. Dak should be right there with them somewhere but for some reason we're told they are far apart?
I don't want Dak to sign but if i'm Dak and I know what those guys got I don't see what the hold up is and why he is risking playing for 900k when he has 30ish million a year on the table.
