You bring up some valid points and I understand that there are certain intangibles that can’t be applied to some stats.I don’t believe any site that says the cowboys were better run blocking than pass blocking last year. Like I said it’s harder to pass block than run block, especially when u factor in substitutions due to injury. This oline has been manhandled in games like Denver and in the playoffs against the rams. Count the holes Zeke had to run through, it won’t take long. Reputation and money-wise this line has underperformed the last 2 years. I doubt you’d find many to disagree with that
If Morris was a quality backup why’s he off the team, twice? I wonder if opposing teams scheme differently with Elliot out??? Would that explain his ypc? I’ve asked u about 20?’s without an answer. Does a website that ranks offensive lines factor in the quality of a rb? Do some rbs make their lines better? Would Zeke be a quintessential example of that? Was the interior of the line weak today like large parts of last year? Why was a perceived bad giants line able to open up huge holes for Barkley? Why has a line with tons of money/all pros/pro bowlers not doing the same the last 2 years? Why are Zeke’s big runs coming from bouncing outside after his rookie year? Has Zeke lost his speed and agility from the age of 21-24?
Do I think the Cowboys are anywhere near a top 5 run blocking team the last 2 years hell no, especially last year, even 10 would be quite a few spots too high imo. I doubt you’d find any cowboy fan that would say this was anywhere near the 5th best run blocking line last year
I watched quite a few games today and the run blocking was Some of the worst I saw all day, especially when u factor in Dak was almost perfect passing. Not really a moot point when this group struggles opening up holes for extended periods of time and today was yet another example of that
If Morris could average more yards per carry because other teams were scheming differently than great, I’ll take almost 5 ypc if they want to shut down one of our receivers or make passing more difficult. He’s not on the team because that was two years ago, most RB’s have short shelf lives plus we just drafted one.
You act like Barkley was running through huge holes all night which is incorrect, hell he barely carried the ball and when he did he was often forced to bounce or run into the back of his linemen. I never said anything about Zeke or Barkley today, the question is who is the better RB so I’m talking about Barkley’s rookie year and Zeke’s career so far.
Since you won’t name 10 top O lines you think were better at run blocking in 2017 and 2018 then let me ask you this. Do you think the Giants run blocking was better than ours last year, yes or no?
