Never in my wildest dreams did I expect Dak and the team to have that kinda chemistry in game one offensively. Looks like Dak working out with the wideouts paid off huge. I am very encouraged with Kellen Moore. He clearly uncuffed Dak. The entire playbook is available now. The defense better step up its run defense. That's the one glaring weakness.
Barkley will make many teams look inept.

QBR also isn't a real stat, it's some garbage cooked up by ESPN that's used by nobody else in football. I wouldn't trust what it says about ANYBODY, good OR bad.

Generally I’m inclined to agree; my concern with it is mostly that nobody knows exactly what goes into it.
However, QBR has been a very friendly stat overall for Dak so the sudden drop is alarming.

This is one game, though the Po-Daks are making it out to be more. It is entirely possible that his QBR will decline this year. Other teams have defenses that will even things out.

His QBR and QB rating are both top 10 for all QB’s over the past 3 seasons.

But sure, it’s one game.

btw...Cooper dropped 1 pass that IF CAUGHT, may well have went for a score. Dak put it right on him.Daks numbers would have been plain gaudy. PAY DAK NOW. Go ahead and pay Coop now.

The myth that he couldn’t make every throw has been completely busted.

I’m so sorry, haters. I am so, SO sorry.

His career completion % was 66.1 entering today. His career yards/attempt was 7.4 entering today. Both very good figures.

His haters bleated all offseason that those numbers meant nothing.

“EYE TEST!”

“JUST WATCH THE GAMES!”

“HE CAN’T THROW DEEP!”

“DINK AND DAK!”

Oh, and “it was just the Giants!” is not any kind of valid excuse. Dropping DIMES is dropping DIMES, no matter who’s in coverage. It’s not like he was throwing screens out there that our receivers were taking to the house.

I’m sure most of his haters feel like complete dummies right about now... at least the ones who have a shred of football knowledge in their bodies. Because even if they still want to argue that Dak was “average” from 2016-18, they were also SO SURE that Dak could never take that next step.

Welp, it’s early, of course... but it looks like Dak is poised to have a fantastic year in Moore’s pass-first offense.

Now, if these Dak haters are true DALLAS COWBOYS fans, they’ll learn to embrace our franchise QB instead of looking to tear him down every chance they get.

It takes a big man to say, “I was wrong.” I’m sure most of us will be gracious about it. I was dead wrong when I said we shouldn’t bench Drew Bledsoe for Tony Romo, because I thought we’d be throwing in the towel in 2006 by going with Romo. Whoops!

I will gladly eat my crow but in my defense that was the first time I saw him dropping deep balls like that consistently.

Wow did Dak look good!

Dak is still underthrowing the ball.

And sailing them high.. Guys were wide open..

He was in a good tempo and they were basically his first reads a majority of the time. I’ve said it so many times, the main issue is not that Dak can’t throw, it’s he can’t throw well when he needs to go through his progressions and work down the field.

dak has been hamstrung by having linehan as the oc. the greatest impediment to his improvement has been removed. the egg must break before the bird can fly.

Man, that throw to Gallup that he took 62 yards was one of the best I've ever seen Dak throw. It was placed perfectly in stride for Gallup to not only continue running, but to run in any direction he wanted to. A thing of beauty on a night full of things of beauty.

Dak needs 6-8 sec minimal to throw the pass from the pocket. Yesterday he had 10+ seconds if he needed it.
Wait till defenders are close to him and his receivers and he hits them bombs before you are calling him Dak Bombardier.....:omg:

I missed it, but wasn’t it on third down and long, in single coverage, against a rookie CB and an already battered secondary with really nothing to worry about as far as Dak goes, because the Cowboys has already blown the game open.

I believe Eli Manning has like 120 passer rating yesterday down like 28-7.

Barkley will make many teams look inept.

The funny thing is:

1. Teams, including Dallas, were rushing four pretty much all day, even with Barkley. Teams generally defend the Giants soft zone and the Giants haven’t found a way to beat it. Barkley is a home run hitter, but he isn’t forcing teams closer to the line.

2. On the other hand, teams, including the Giants, are selling out to stop Zeke and the run when it comes to the Cowboys.

How does any of that negate the fact that it was a perfectly thrown ball? By the way, it was also his second or third read in about 3 or 4 seconds, with 3 defenders nearby.

Saying if was the greatest throw you ever saw him make us probably a tad bit of an over exxageration.

No, I said "one of the the best". I'm watching the game now, and that throw simply couldn't have been better.
