So he played 11 games last year and didn't start just one game of this year? And that's enough to judge that he's not worthy a first rounder?
It's the Amari Cooper syndrome.
He's worth it.
You have to ask why he isn't starting! Something is wrong if a pick was drafted that high and is riding the pine.

Taco + a 2nd?

I’d push for Taco and a 3 but I might do a 2..

We get that Rookie contract he’s on for a few years and if he only ends up being a corner then so be it but this guy was incredible at Alabama.

Get him to Dallas and fix whatever the Dolphins broke! This is a no brainer.

I understand the logic in tanking, but what's the logic in simultaneously getting rid of your young talent?

So no one cares that not only is he not a SS skill/size wise, but he hates the position?

Guy literally was at odds with the coaching staff for playing him out of position. Nice kid so he didn’t say anything too offensive publicly, but his own mother called out the coaches for playing him out of position.

I’m all for accumulating talent but we have 2 very good slot corners. No way am I trading for another

Only logical explanation I can think of is getting more contract control with a 2020 pick. However its only really worth it if you get a first. That will probably be tough for them to do

They don’t like him. Owner never wanted to draft him.

Garrett has the Saban connection and Saban says this is one of the best leaders he’s ever coached?

I think Dallas will be very interested in this one.

Just get him here and figure it out from there.

Why are they giving up on him so soon?

However, Taco straight up..wait, throw in Heath. That should do it.

There doing a total rebuild is why is my guess, Tom Brady is still there so they threw in the towel, not terrible reasoning to do so.

Garrett: "Hello Coach Saban, this is Jason Garrett, I'm not sure if you remember me...."
Saban: " Sure, your dad was a scout right? How can I help you?"
Garrett: " I actually coached for you in Miami..."
Saban: " I don't think that's true, but okay. What do you need, busy going to national championships and stuff."
Garrett: " Is Minkah Fitzpatrick any good? Should I tell my boss to trade for him?"
Saban: "He's an amazing young man. 3-year starter for me. Who's your starting safety now?"
Garrett: "Jeff Heath."
Saban (interrupting): "Absolutely trade for him."
Garrett: "Can you put in a good word for me Coach? You kind of screwed me with Rolando McClain."
Saban: "Sure son, but the Dolphins definitely aren't going to listen to me."
Garrett: "Golly Coach, I sure would appreciate it. You know I'm friends with Coach K at Duke?"
Saban: dial tone.
Garrett (yelling): "Mr. Jones, my good friend Coach Saban from Alabama says we should do it!"

All occurring while Bill Belichick sends a 3rd round pick and two future 7th round picks to Miami for Fitzpatrick.

We haven't seen Wilson play a regular season game yet.

I like Wilson but this is a rare talent.

If we can get him for anything reasonable it’s better then another Trysten Hill type.

This is an All Pro potential player.

Minkah, Patrick Peterson, and Charles Woodson are the only 3 to win the Bednarik and Thorpe award in the same season. That’s the caliber of player we’re talking about here and he’s in his 2nd year on his rookie deal.
