The three defenses Dallas has played have gotten lit up by every offense they've faced. That includes Tampa, Buffalo, Baltimore, Philly, New England, and Chicago.

New Orleans and Green Bay have pretty good defenses. We'll have a much better feel soon.

I don't expect receivers to be running free wide open all game the next two weeks.

I do like that 9 different players have splash plays of 20 yards or more. Makes the Cowboys very hard to gameplan for.

I would have to agree with that, but I will say they are doing what good teams do...win those games easily.

Main thing I see from Dak is he is making his read and getting the ball out quickly. I think his biggest issue has been hesitation in getting rid of the ball. When you hesitate you tend to put the ball behind the WR as the timing of the rout is altered. Dak just looks a lot more comfortable in the offense and is getting the ball out quicker

The best thing I like about Prescott. His ability to be coachable. He's not cocky enough to say I don't need it. Huge

I agree. I like that about Romo as well. He always talked about working and improving himself as a QB. I see that with Dak as well. He is not settling to be a starting QB he is working hard to be a great QB.

Folks are going to hold on to their stances and go down like the titanic the fact is we have all been wrong to some degree. I think that dak spent the better part of a year being just average.Ill say since Atlanta game until cooper's arrival. There were alot of factors involved but some of it was on Dak no question
he is a franchise QB which is where many of the anti daks are wrong no need to list names they know who they are
Dak has better footwork because he has worked on it
because he has more time because his line is healthy atm
because his receivers are getting separation
because Linehan is gone and the scheme has helpd him make earlier decisions
because kitna has put the confidence in him to trust in his arm and receivers and just wing it
The way every pass he throws gets critiqued is just stupid hes a NFL QB and is going to have some head scratchers have you seen Rodgers and Brady throw some? I certainly have
There will be a certain group that will always try and blame Dak at every turn just like TR but it comes with the position.QB always gets too much of the blame and too much of the credit. This has been a divided fan-base at the position for many years but Im hoping not on sundays

I feel like both comments by Troy have been taken out of context and are completely overblown. The first accuracy comment still holds true. It's pretty rare that someone who doesn't have the accuracy of a Rodgers develops it several years after getting into the NFL. What he did say is that his accuracy could improve some with footwork. But he went on to say that what Dak really needed was better anticipation and timing. In the second video he basically says that Dak's footwork and timing have improved and it's all he needed to see from him to make him the QB.

Troy wasn't trashing Dak in the first comment and he wasn't saying he's the best QB in the NFL the second.

He didn't really say a word about "you're either accurate, or you're not" and his right, or wrong-ness about that, and he's always been a supporter of Dak, the football player, but you could tell he was kind of going in that direction with the "he's a different player" and "you can tell with his footwork" lines that alluded to it.

Nice find.
Haha...

And when he said that bs at the time...i was here screaming to the hilltops that he was accurate and his troubles were all related to his footwork/mechanics.

I think i need to be an "expert" on tv...lol

I’m more than happy to eat crow on Dak. I said when we drafted him that he was Tebow 2.0 and that he’d probably be a good backup QB. He’s improved by leaps and bounds in the passing game and that’s a testament to his hard work passion for the game. Good for him. Glad he’s a Cowboy.

Still don’t think he deserves to be the highest paid QB in the league though. Or even top-3 for that matter.

Intangibles are what make the good ones great, but can't make the mediocre ones great. Dak was blessed with a world of talent around him his rookie season, but played inconsistently. I never doubted Dak's intangibles. My only concern was his ability to make acurate throws, his technique, throwing with anticipation (etc.). Up to this point in his career, Dak had not improved much in any of these areas. This season, however, Dak has shown great improvement in all areas. He's not quite there yet, but he's really close to matching his physical talent and intangibles to his technique and approach to the position. When he completes this journey, he might be the best QB in the league.

Yes, of course Dak was inconsistent his rookie year who isn't? I personally saw Dak making accurate throws each and every game he has played, but it's not just on Dak, it's on scheme and protection as well. Lets also not forget he has dealt with some spotty receivers. Dez was in decline and couldnt get open, and there wasn't much beyond that. The biggest thing for Dak, is he was playing in a system that wasn't a good fit for him, but the guy has shown the ability to make all the throws since he has arrived. I always seen the issues as explainable personally. Anyway, this isn't about me being right about Dak as much as it is excited about having him as our QB. I've never understood why he was so scrutinized quite honestly, especially watching all the other supposed great QB's out there. Dak is nearly unflappable, and works so darn hard at improving his game.

Troy has always liked Dak.

Now he respects him even more because in one off-season he has completely changed his fundamental passing abilities.
Stance
Throwing motion
Read progressions
Timing of release

I mean he is just an all new QB ....... It's like when Rocky learned how to fight like Apollo.

I want to see him up against pressure and real NFL defenses. He has definitely improved when given the time and receivers getting open but the real test of improved mechanics is pressure and a dirty pocket.

Definitely, but the knee-jerk right now is out of control.

Can we please beat a team that will win more than five games before we anoint this team?

I agree with you. I heard nothing in this interview that really contradicted what he has said in the past. I have never believed that Troy was a guy who would be jealous of another's success after he left Dallas. I mean, he was never that way with Tony and I don't think that he was shown that by Roger or Danny White when he came to Dallas. I think he understands what being QB of the Dallas Cowboys really means. It's not like being QB for any other NFL team and I say this knowing that it's not easy to be a QB anywhere in the league, but in Dallas, it's different. Much is expected, much is demanded and very little is tolerated in the way of failure. BTW, while I do believe that he has improved his footwork, I don't believe that it's footwork that has made the difference this year. I think it's his throwing motion. He is better at that this year and it's showing. In the end, it doesn't matter. All that matters is that he seems to be improving and really, that's all anybody wanted to see out of him.

Good post Scot.

LMAO, you were on the old site and now here and you can ask that?

I say what the hell, let them have their fun because no one knows what lies ahead. I just hope they're not like the guy that falls out of the ten story window and at each floor he's asked how he's doing. "So far, so good".

We are about to find out what's real and what isn't because I can't really tell much from those 3 games/teams, they're really bad and might be picking 1, 2, 3. However, a good team beats the teams they're supposed to beat and they've taken care of business so far.

erod, you're not going to bring anyone back to earth, they have to fall. Or hey, we might float up to join them.
