Crowd noise at AT&T Stadium

It doesn't borderline on shady. I’ve watched several games there. It’s plane and simple, Hawk fans are a crazy loud bunch, and the atmosphere is college football like. It’s exactly what a football game should be like.

Didn't they cheer so loud that it once registered on the richter scale as an earthquake?

I am not living there like many of you but I am a long time Cowboys fan and I want my team to be successful.

You asked me where that "faulty" opinion came from and I said where it did. That's it. I would be more than happy if the crowd and the atmosphere is as you tell.

That wasn't my understanding...it does get loud in there..I was there in 09 vs Philly in the playoffs and vs GB in 16 in the playoffs..but those moments are few and far between

Just finished watching the Seahawks-Rams game and I am impressed by the loudness of the Seahawks fans. I am pretty sure they had something to do with the delay game and missed field goal at the end of the game, and those plays did bring the W.

I reside in Europe, so I witness lots of noise of fans in stadiums, particularly in soccer games. However, you can hardly ever come across a stadium with the capacity of the At&t stadium. I just don't get it. The stadium accomodates almost 100K fans and it is also a roofed venue that should have a noisier atmosphere. Since I have never been there, I really wonder what the problem is.

Why is our home quiet or at least not that loud?

The reason the stadium is usually quiet is b/c most of the seats in the lower half of the stadium are mostly owned by corporations who use the seats as business junkets for clients. Those seats are usually occupied by neutral spectators who just like the scene and opposing teams fans who gobble up seats on the secondary resell market. Packer fans will occupy about 1/3 of the stadium sunday. You can thank jerry for pricing season tickets out of reach for most fans.

Fan apathy at AT&T is real. Don't get me wrong, there is a large number of fans at the stadium that are there to cheer on the Cowboys and can get pretty loud, but there is a significant amount of people that are just "there". They never stand and get loud and sometimes you wonder why they are even there.

Most NFL stadium attendees are corporate personnel, considering they are the ones who own the seats.

This thread is funny to me. Whats embarrassing is we have not won a Superbowl in decades. That's what all my friends remind me about every single day. Not once have they brought up crowd noise.

It gets loud in there, but its not the loudest stadium. Part of that is the way it is constructed, part of it is that JerryWorld is a destination, and even after 10 years you still see lots of fans from the opposing team. It is a great experience every time I go, win or lose. Loudest or not, the energy in there has been awesome. And I am usually watching the game and not paying attention to when fans are cheering or not cheering. Could really care less.

I liked Texas stadium but September games were tough in that heat. Spoiled by ATT now.

It appears the stakes are going up this year. I'm sure the crowd noise will go up with it.

Texas Stadium was definitely one of the greatest Home Field advantages in the NFL as we won 67% of our games there over 37 years.

It wasn’t attributed to fan noise but rather the elements of the extreme heat , the sun beaming down on visitors side and of course the great teams we had for most of those years.

Stadium noise is over rated without a great team to support it. Seattle always had stadium noise but until recent years didn’t have a team to match it.

Same here, it does get loud. It does not come across as much on TV as it does in Seattle and KC where they pump in fake noise and boost the sound.

Also, and not sure if they still do, the booth at the stadium is enclosed. Maybe they can open the windows. But it is still enclosed more so than other stadiums. So the sound is somewhat muffled.

But the certain fans don't want to hear that as it doesn't fit their narrative.

Also the stadium was designed to funnel the noise down to the field. So in the upper sections you can actually hear the next person to you at times.

It was super loud both times I have been there. I couldn’t hear my daughter right next to me and that is saying something.

I've been to AT&T Stadium twice. Both times I had to plug my ears because of the noise. I went to the Seahawks playoff game this January and my head was still ringing the day after.

I think the accomplishment of AT&T stadium having the largest TV in the world is something to be proud of, but it completely dilutes the fan interaction/reaction during the game. They're too content watching that 50 yard TV and a lot of the 100,000 people rarely, if ever even watch what's happening on the actual field.

I've sat in the upper section, and the only way to see the game in any detail was by watching the screen instead of the field. Won't sit up there again!

My friends and I come down at least once a year from Missouri. Every time we come back discussing how loud it is at ATT.

Maybe it's where we sit in the upper bowl. But there have been times when it's almost painful because of the noise.

Its really, really big. The New Orleans Super Dome would easily fit inside. Unless all the fans are going crazy, like in European futbol, it is not going to get as loud as other venues.

not priced out, simply bought up by Corporations and handed out as bonus's and extras to employees that maybe not even sports fans..most not even the same people twice in the same seats game to game.its just the way a lot of the nfl has gone and we are dead in the middle of extravagance X100 look at me area..

I disagree...when the face value of a decent seat is well over 200 or 300 bucks, plus parking and food, a family of four is not going to a game for 1200 to 1500 bucks....we take Disney cruises regularly and they run about 5000 for a normal room with a window for two adults and 2 kids...if I lived in Dallas would I rather go to 3 games or a 7 day Disney cruise with the family? Pretty easy....


Oh and by the way if you like carnival you could probably go on a 7 day carnival cruise for the price of one game....now since we live in charlotte if we had to travel it could easily cost us 3500 for a single game.



Average fans are priced out, only fans that have a substantial amount of disposable income can regularly attend and typically those are not the kind that make a ton of noise....


Just wait until they figure out how to project 3D or they start showing games in movie theaters in 3D...
