You can't have players quit with words like "he has to prove himself" or whatever. He'd be extended by now if they liked him that much

What in the hell is he going to say? We are planning on canning everybody this week?

makes no difference, they’ll can these guys probably at the end of the year, then him and daddy will pump sunshine about the new coach and all of this wonderful talent on the roster next August in Oxnard. The Cowboys will get a short bump in performance, and the him and daddy will undermine the next dopey coach and they’ll be in the same spot in 2-3 years - mediocre at best.

This. So truthful and so painful. No getting out of it. Hard reality to face.
Tear filled sigh...Go Cowboys

Honestly its just lip service. The Cowboys are still fighting for a playoff spot and it would be poor judgment to put the focus away from anything but that right now. Once we're out of playoff contention all bets will be off. They may be saying one thing right now but not extending him was a clear message on what the expectations were for this season.

"The results are not what we expected but we're confident Jason and his staff can turn things around."

That's a vote of confidence. Stephen sounds like the team just fell to 5-1 after a tough loss to the Patriots.

Jerry had an almost identical quote the week before he fired Wade Phillips...

Not only that, but Stephen did put somewhat of a qualifier in his statement about having a "great year". You can either look at that statement as Stephen being clueless about what's happening around him, or he's making it clear that the coaching staff is only safe from the hot seat as long as a "great season" is still a possibility.

Im not one to support Garrett at this point but there is a big difference between the Wade situation and this one. They had a coach in waiting then.If they fired Garrett before seasons end who takes his place? i dont see not one person on this staff that deserves to be elevated to interim head coach. You gonna pull someone out of retirement?

Im ready for a new HC at this point but if we are going to send someone packing right away please let it be Marinelli

And Jason deserved to be elevated?

I'm a bit surprised Stephen doesn't choke on his words, although, I guess that's what separates the big BSers from the pretenders.

I used to think Jerry was absolutely the most shameless scam artist in the country! Since Stephen took over, I see I was mistaken!

If Garrett really has lost the team then i expect the team will most likley give half a effort vs the Eagles. If that ends up being the case, well Stephen will most likley be singing a different tune next week.

Why does he have a radio show? It’s basically just an opportunity for him to spew propaganda.
It is required that both have their own shows as part of the flagship deal which is why the station that has it now has no competition for it, the rest have all had their turn in the barrel with those clowns before it became a requirement. The Cowboys have had twice as many flagship stations as other teams in the last 20 years. To carry the Cowboys means you have to carry one old bag and one dumb bag as well.

When The Ticket had it, they were asked to tone down the making fun of Booger and others in the FO and their response was to ratchet it up another level to get rid of it. It is not a money maker for a good station because of the exclusion of ad categories because of the sponsors the team sells. The Fan was a loser in need and all too ready to comply.

There are no other markets like this one. No team really wants their owner or GM on the radio but if they did, they'd lnow the two words "no comment". These two jokes can't keep their mouths shut.

He sings the lyrics Booger hands him.
