I do too, its one of favorites, can't believe that was over 20 years ago

Favreau & Vaughan have made a helluva career for themselves
Decent guys. Especially Favreau.

Might have to put that one on tonight.
It was either that, or Octaman...

Jerry wouldn't give Tom Landry a day..........but for Jason Garret he's got 10 years of patience. Baffling
Not really.
He just bought a team with history, fame, but was losing money hand over fist.
He's a wildcatter. That's how he was able to buy the darn team in the first place and it was him wildcatting again (along with being a dream of his...).
He went in with the idea of making a big splash to generate all eyes back on America's Team.
Let's be honest: Landry was seemingly getting real stale at the time and Jimmy happened to be a personal friend and the hottest coach in college at the same time.

Jerry was wanting to inject adrenaline back into the fan base, even if it meant pissing them off.

And it worked.
It all worked.

Heady times, those were.

For me I think Garrett has lost the locker room. And if we lose against Philly. Especially if we lose big. I can't see any player in his corner.

So, Landry was the problem? Far from it.

What part of my post was complaining about Jimmy Johnson?

My larger point was that Jerry has a history of firing some of the most iconic figures in cowboys history..........but he won't fire Jason Garret. Explain that one.

You stated that it's baffling that he didn't give Landry one day, but gives Jason 10 years.
I said it's not baffling and gave the reason why he didn't give Landry one day.

The Garrett era explains itself, I would hope.

ok. Have you considered writing a book on the end of Landry era? You seem to have a real grasp on it.

Especially Favreau

I'm really enjoying his Netflix show "The Chef Show"

I like to cook so its right up my alley

Favreau has an interesting story, IIRC, he was working in finance and decided he wanted to become an actor so he went for it and landed some roles pretty quickly, perhaps Rudy was his first and the rest is history

So, say they manage to right the ship and actually win the SB. Would ya'll be ok with it if Jerry waited a couple of weeks before he fired JG?

everyone should watch Hangin with the Boys. They hit it in Spades why Garrett needs to go. I've said for years Garrett teams are 2 quarter teams. They usually have a great first half or a great 2nd half. This season they haven't even switched it yet. They just don't show up till the 2nd half. That's all on the head coach. Especially if you get new players and they do it also. For Garrett to keep his job this long is criminal...IMO I just want to know where are the pictures he have on Jones. Got to be some bad pictures Garrett has on him for him to be able to keep his job.

Here's what you missed in your rant. One thing Johnson did that Garrett has not done is Johnson in an interview the week leading up to Super Bowl XXVIII when asked about all the decisions all season getting to the Super Bowl he said he made all of the decisions and when pressed further about Jones Johnson said he handled Jones. Then the night before the Super Bowl a reporter asked Jones about that and this is when Jones said with the talent he gave Johnson to work with that there are a lot of coaches like Switzer who he knew would bug Johnson.. After that game they both mutually agreed that it was time for Johnson to go. Johnson didn't like hearing that Switzer could and then later did succeed him and Jones did like that Johnson head got so big that he started to think he as coach and GM. During the pregame of Super Bowl XLV in Dallas they had a round table with Aikman, Emmitt, Irvin, The Moose, Jones and Johnson and Johnson finally admitted in front of millions of people that he didn't have anywhere near the power that most outside of the Cowboys thought he had and it was a constant thorn in his side that he had to go to Jones for things that he thought he should be able to do.
.
With respect, does any of that add or subtract from Jones' narcissism? Because that is the primary motivator behind all his decision-making.

You don't get it obviously. All those reports all the b******* all the gossip. It's nothing more than that. Because the next morning they both spoke and decided it was time what you never had a fight and change your mind in a box it wasn't set in stone. That's what I find hilarious

Fired !?...I've been counting the minutes for 9 years!

After 2 decades of our obvious dysfuntion as an organization, the ONLY people on this board who could possibly be supporting the Jones Cartel and the Red-Headed Imbecile are:

1. Incognito Merchandise salesmen
2. Incognito Employees/Family members of Jones/Garrett clan
3. Incognito Opposing teams PRAYING we keep these baffoons forever to guarantee we'll never WIN ANYTHING!

This is my only issue with head coaching Dallas Cowboys football. What head coach with any self-respect. Would take over a football team without having total control who would put their reputation on the line like that. I believe other than a new Young startup or somebody coming up in the ranks that's already on our staff. I just don't see it happening. Not while Jerry is in charge
I agree with you but Sad to say $ talk, At 10 mill a year I will lose my self respect and take the HC burden on, would you help as a assistant yes man for 3 mill if I get the job??????????????????
