Now that is interesting.....open to the possibility? Yah he’s got his phone open for a chat. That’s good to know we got an option, instead of the old ...”Ok,we fire Garrett...now who’s our coach?” Meyer. Loooool Boy...I wanted to hear more. Meyer was giving the straight goods on college in that.

Because we live in a time where people love taking offense- especially if they're not the actual victim.
And it's only getting worse.

The PC has taken over the US and it's a shame. The stuff I hear people apologize for is beyond belief.

Of course it only applies to certain segments of the population.

He's the head coach of a major college football program and already making millions . He's a major factor in competing for national championships every year. There is no way I would leave Ohio State to come here.

Same goes with Lincoln Riley

But I would choose Riley over Urban Meyer just to get him away from Oklahoma so my Longhorns don't face him every year .

If you hate Jason Garrett, you will probably hate Urban Meyer as a head coach as well. Nothing against the guy, but i think he is cut out for the college football world, not the NFL. A better recruiter and motivator than Xs and Os guy. Stubborn with his offense, predictable play calling based around the same 3 runs. His defenses at Ohio State were typically super talented, but underachieved. Sounds similar to the Cowboys current situation.

I’d take Meyer as the HC in Dallas in a heartbeat. A heartbeat.

He is made to be a HC and run the show. Good Lord he’d be so good in Dallas.

You know Elliott would endorse him wholeheartedly. Zeke went to OSU 100% because of Meyer. If Jerry asks his opinion, we know what he’ll say.

Kinda makes one wonder if Jerry has casually mentioned that possibility to him (tested the waters).

What's it going to be then, eh?

This also says that riley is not interested.
And he probably wouldn't. He has it set pretty good right now. A few more winning seasons he becomes a fixture like Saban is.

If I were betting money, I would certainly put down on Meyer over Riley. It just seems like more of a likely scenario given the circumstances.

Caroll's first stint wasn't exactly successful though.

He also took a few years in SEA to succeed. Not sure this fanbase would want to go through those kind of hard times.

Carroll has never not been competitive, even with QBs like Tavaris Jackson.

Interesting.......on paper he appears to perfect replacement but the key would be his defensive coordinator IMO.

Notice the name in red.....pretty sure will make a few posters hit the pause button (lol).

Meyer's success can be attributed to his unique offensive system, which is an offshoot of Bill Walsh's West Coast Offense, relying on short pass routes.[31] Meyer's base offense spreads three receivers and puts the quarterback in shotgun formation.[32] Then, he introduces motion in the backfield and turns it into an option attack, adding elements of the traditional run-oriented option offense.[32]

Spread offense[edit]
When Meyer got his first head coaching position at Bowling Green, he took trips to visit John L. Smith and Scott Linehan at Louisville, Randy Walker and Kevin Wilson at Northwestern, Bill Snyder at Kansas State, Joe Tiller and Jim Chaney at Purdue, and Rich Rodriguez at West Virginia, all of whom ran some version of the spread offense.[32]

Meyer's teams at Bowling Green, Utah, Florida, and Ohio State all ran the spread, chiefly utilizing a run-first variation most similar to Rich Rodriguez's formerly at West Virginia with tweaks to fit the offensive personnel, for example Meyer's first two years at Florida skewed toward a drop-back passing attack led by Chris Leak, while Tim Tebow led an option run-based spread (as did Alex Smith at Utah).[32] Using this offense, he won two BCS titles, won the inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship, became the first coach to lead a BCS non-AQ conference team (Utah) to a BCS bowl,[76] coached a Heisman trophy winner (Tim Tebow),[77] and graduated a player who became a number one overall pick in the NFL draft (Alex Smith).[78]
