38 is the weak link on defense

One, I don't put a ton of value in PFF grades.

That being said, he has a rating right now of 67 which is kind of average for a S. In fact, they have a stat that shows he's been targeted 24 times and let up 20 catches, which rank him 3rd worst amongst safeties. So where are you getting this PFF rating that they have him as one of the best safeties in football?
PFF has ranked Heath 2 or 3 times so far this season as being one of the highest rated performers on defense. The Cowboys coaching staff obviously feels the same way since he not only is a starter but a team captain as well. Obviously, their judgment on Heath's performance is much different than yours.

Did anyone see our captain #38 on the 90 plus yard touchdown to Robbie Anderson?
This play perfectly summarizes his tenure as our starting strong safety. In key situations our opponents know that they can attack our strong safety at any time. Anybody who continues to defend this scrub is just a joke.
Yup - and I also saw 24...his co-conspirator in the weak link category. Chido I the real marked man in the secondary and needs to give up PT to Lewis.

It's not showing up in their overall grade. His overall grade is 67 which isn't that good. And his passing grades are terrible allowing 20 catches on 24 targets.

So I am not sure where you are getting this concept that PFF has him rated as one of their best safeties. I am staring at their stats page right now.

So you notice things better than the coaches?

LOL. You were the one who just cited PFF as proof he's one of the best safeties right now in the league and so I checked and PFF's grades don't seem to show that at all.

And yes, I think coaches can sometimes make mistakes in evaluating personnel. I mean for a few years, Marinelli started a DT in the Golden Cock, who wasn't very good at all.

Heath looked good to me last night. Don't know what game you saw?

The same one that showed him make some nice plays in run support, including a key 3rd down stop, and a game that showed him struggle in pass coverage. He was lucky Nelson Agholor went soft on that long pass. He had Heath beaten badly.

Heath played well last night. The one game does not make him a Pro Bowler but I give credit to players who play good. Heath had a big hit on RB holding him shy of a 1st and forcing Philly to punt when the game was still in question. Had Heath not worked his way through traffic and made the hit that Philly drive continues.

Not even close to the weakest link. Seriously, what are people watching?

There’s a sizeable, very vocal faction that despises Heath. So much so that someone will probably “attack” me for “defending” him. I’m not.

He is beyond bad, he go t beat on the TD to Godderrt he was single high safety layer crossed in font of him and he was no where to be seen on ball that was in the air for a long time.
That pass to Goedert was a very different situation, and I agree Heath did not play that one well. I noticed Heath on that play, and he was hesitant on which way to go, and it cost him and the team. Otherwise I thought he played a pretty good game last night though.

Chido was flat out beat yes but our safety had the perfect angle on the play to make the tackle after he got beat. Safety is the last line of defense. The tight end was murdering 38 all game to keep the chains moving. Chido is young. This guy has been doing the same thing since the Calvin Johnson game. Why is he still on the team? He is the poster boy of the Jason Garrett right kind of guy philosophy. I am sure he's a great try hard guy but the name of the game is to win. Anyone who thinks we can win with #38 getting significant minutes is a fool.
Saying anyone who disagrees with you is a fool isn't going to make anyone change their minds. In fact, all it's going to do is make them take anything you ever say with a very small grain of salt.

And then there are the majority that just thinks "we could do better"!

Heath much like Jaylon needs to play forward with ball in front of him. They both get exposed when they have to play the ball or tracking it.

Heath is old school SS. He tackles that's why he's still starting.

He's starting because they have no one better.

Again, Heath was a horrid tackler in 2017 and 2018. He's been better this year but I am not sure where this notion started that he's a great tackling safety started. He certainly wasn't that the previous two years.

It’s one of those, that’s easy to judge from watching at home.

You think, hey who do I help? I’m going to cover the middle where a mismatch of LVE on Goedart.

But I don’t play safety in the NFL. So nobody really knows how hard of a play that is to make if you’re not an elite safety

We could ALWAYS do better! Every team could. The normal “minority” simply chooses to enjoy the games, as opposed to the nonstop crying.
