Someday, we'll learn what really happened behind closed doors.
Until then, I feel like we're missing something.

Considering that we;ve held onto some trouble players with garbage attitudes in the past, it's a little refreshing that they didn't ride Taco until the wheels fell off. Other than the premature draft pick, what are we really missing other than a rotation player?

His first sack, which was against Dak was completely a coverage sack. The Dolphins are the 32nd ranked defense and collect garbage stats.

he sucks...

I was tough on him but he clearly is showing some talent now in Miami.

He may have been a headcase and had an issue with Marinelli, but sometimes, you cant be sooooo stubborn with guys like this.

It's not going to be a good look if Taco finds himself in another city. That's a direct reflection on how maybe it's time Marinelli needs to move on. I wouldn't get too excited yet with Taco. He could nosedive shortly.

But if he keeps this up, not a good look for Sir Rod.

The funny thing is that it was a Rod influenced pick.

They definitely cut him too soon. I always thought the guy could play. Rod clearly is a meathead judge of talent but the reality is Taco must have been a terrible clubhouse guy. That is the only explanation.

and yet there was no mutterings or evidence from the other players that he was a terrible anything.

Don't agree, but hey! how much fun would it be if we always did?

Tell me where it wasn't possible to keep both guys? What is it that you're "disagreeing" with?

Not looking to start an argument, just trying to understand your mindset and reasoning.

I don't know, maybe because of his preseason play?

Blossom is a strong word, but he is clearly better than Hyder and Armstrong, and that was obvious in preseason.

Which means either the coaches are idiots (not an unheard of opinion here) or there were personality conflicts.

Either way it's obvious the coaches didn't want him in Dallas, and since we're not on the practice field/locker room/meetings with him, you can pick either one....

I'd say this is what we're missing:

(That's our defensive line coach)

It is, or rather was, to keep both, I never said it wasn't. But one less DE means space for one more DT, or S, or whatever, and DT is in need of an upgrade more than having one more DE on the roster.

Just a choice by the team, which I happen to agree with...

So the same coach that wanted him badly enough to overrule the scouts on draft day was also the guy that "didn't want him in Dallas". Where are the consequences for that guy? Where's the accountability for completely wasting a 1st round draft pick?

Sorry if this sounds personal, it isn't intended to be, but that sounds like homer talk. "Whatever they do, that's the right thing by me"

There's certainly no substance behind it.

Exactly. Some one in Big D was not a fan. They would rather see Crawford get washed out every snap.

How is quitting your Dallas fandom going? Wasn't there a ten page thread about that?

We already know. If Taco plays lights out in Miami, then clearly Jerry, Garrett and Marinelli wanted him gone and McClay, Richard and Moore wanted to keep him.

If not, it was just the opposite.

He wasn't terrible but he wasn't better than Dorance Armstrong, which is the whole thing. If Armstrong was getting 50 reps a game in Miami he would have better stats than Taco.

And DLaw said before he was cut that "the training wheels are off and he needs to be on his own". Then after Taco was cut he said they didn't have to carry him anymore. There is clearly more to the story we don't know, but the players did comment.

Where did Tank talk about "carry him anymore"? That's news to me.

That's a pretty big revelation and would deserve to be directly quoted.

In this instance I agree with the team, there's been plenty of times I haven't, such as letting Bailey go, but for the team to keep Taco I'd have to have seen way more performance on the field than he had....
