I think Jerry is the biggest obstacle. It's not that he doesn't want to win another SB. While that may be #1 on his list, winning one with The Clapper as HC is #1A so he can show the world that he was right about Garrett.
If that were not the case, how much the franchise has invested in JG would be completely irrelevant. Jason, based on his comments, approaches the games bassackwards. He is "we do what we do". That obviously isn't working where it matters. He doesn't seem to care about the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent and how to develop a plan to attack their weakness and minimize their strength. The Patriots are just the opposite. Take last year's playoffs for example. The completely changed "who they were". Now, it didn't work...unless you consider winning another Lombardi trophy and handing out gawdy rings to your players a success.
In my opinion, unless The Clapper takes them to the conference championship game, Jerry needs to cut his loses. Maybe the answer is on the staff (seriously doubt that), maybe it's Lincoln Riley, maybe it's Urban Meyers, maybe it's someone else. Just hire a proven winner and give them 100% control of their staff and the scheme.
