Kaiser Rolls out notes on Eagles game

From what I've seen, I don't believe Cooper was 100 percent Sunday. He just played through his injury without complaining.

Cooper is healthy enough to run all his routes and make all his cuts. In one sense noone is 100% but Amari is back to make the kind of moves he did earlier in the season. In the NO and GB games he was clearly injured and only about half as effective. Cooper is the guy that juked a Philly DB into tearing a ligament without ever touching him last year and he may not be fully at that level, but he ran routes in this game that not many WRs can.

My nit-pic is a well officiated game should have less flags. Several times game flow was changed by the Zebras. The "blow" to the head by Jaylon Smith was really quite nothing other than good pressure but it led to their TD. I think the officiating team should not be noticed and I noticed them several times controlling the game.

I agree in general but the officiating has gotten so bad that I'm really only going off the lack of terrible calls. The roughing penalty on Jaylon was tickytack but it was still within the rules, so Im not counting things like that. In the GB game there were four calls that were just made up out of thin air, like the TE tripping and falling into Jeff Heath - who got called for defensive holding. Calls like that are a joke and we didn't have them in this game.

Surprisingly, I’d say Xavier Woods, though I do like him as a player.

Woods will lead with his shoulder and fail to wrap up at times, although he has improved there. Lewis tends to wrap up the legs of the ballcarrier and just doesn’t seem to miss much. He almost always gets his guy on the ground.

You may be right on Woods on percentages but some of that is Woods is a safety trying to make the big hit that jars the ball lose. Lewis is the classic drag down tackler IMO, and most CBs are. Deion Sanders never even rose to the level of a drag down tackler and he is a first ballot HOFer.

Heath and BJ. Unless Heath can lay a big hit he can't tackle for ****.

Totally disagree on Jeff Heath. I think Derek Carr would as well:

I haven't focused on Heath too much this year, but his tackling technique used to be so awful.
He was the epitome of the heat-seeking shoulder missile.

I've never seen that still before. Can't tell where the left hand is but it looks like he may have gotten away with a horse collar.

No horse collar. I remember the play. He made a great play, but that doesn't mean he knows how to properly tackle.
Because he doesn't.

You're right. The other arm probably never touched the guy. I actually missed that game.

Yup. Not actually wrapping up and tackling, but heat-seeking missile that gets the hit.
Great play, in that instance though.
Saved the entire game.

But he didn't have a chance at a wrapup tackle, he had to cover half the field to get to Carr before he scored. Its at the 2:00 mark of this video:

Let me edit this:
He knows how to properly tackle.
He's been taught and drilled countless times on it, I'm sure.

He just doesn't anyways.

So you gave us a bad example of how he tackles as a defense of how he tackles?

I gave that game saving play as a response to "Heath can't take for ess". I'll look for some videos but can you point me to any links of analysts saying Heath can't tackle? I know its a mantra here but I've never heard the comment anywhere but this board.

Lol. You've never seen what I've said about him?
Honestly?

Edit: darnit, I forgot the word "never".

Honestly, it's probably harder to find him making a proper tackle.

But, I'm not in this business.
You can claim victory and feel happy about the untruth of it.
