Well this is just great.

It means speculation all this offseason, starting with the draft.

Now we get to go through more drama ala Earl Thomas and still end up empty handed, starting Jeff Heath in 2020.

I don't believe their asking price is going to change all that much despite his agent feeding him bad info and him airing his anger on Twitter.

I value Pollard like Hunt honestly

Not my fault the clapper/Lineham/the Golden boy can't

I also reserve the right to be completely wrong

Well with al due respect its not how you value him. Its about how he's valued in this league and if no one wanted to touch him until the 4th round why would he now be worth 2 2nd rounders?

I know and I'm not looking forward to it. Hopefully he ruins his trade value and they get even less.

That's a second-rounder too steep IMO. A first in 2020 and second in 2021 would have been fair. As I mentioned in another thread, I could have even seen the second being made conditional, with the Jets getting a 1 in 2021 if Adams reached certain levels of play.

Agree, a 1st and then a 2nd would be it.

Me either. Jerrywould've probably got flack for it but that hasn't stopped him before......
Actually....you can argue that trading a 1st and 2 2nd rounders for Adams was a smarter move than trading a 1st for Amari Cooper. So to see they didn't make that move is kind of head scratching.

If we had hit on the Trysten Hill pick...I bet we make that trade. Think Jerry got cold feet knowing a 2nd rounder is no guaranteed starter now...And not having that first rounder...really puts pressure on hitting in the later rounds...which our track record isn't the greatest.

That's actually a fair price especially if they let you stretch out the 2's over a couple years. He's definitely worth it considering we'll be drafting in the late 20s.

That's the t hing though. Two 2nd rounders aren't going to stop me from making the deal. They can trade up into the 2nd round if that pick was that precious them.

Two 2nd rounders I would definitely have to think about that one.

And thats the problem with dangling a player. Now Adams knows the feelings aren't mutual. Look for a hold out next year.

Seems more the Jets were just entertaining the calls they were receiving and not putting him on the trade block.

I hate to see a great local player rotting on a trash franchise. I hope he holds out in the offseason.

This would have been absolutely insane. The Cowboys have done relatively well in the draft over the last 5 years, and to give up that much draft capital would have been a big mistake.
Yeah, we can use that 2nd rounder on Thornhill and not some worthless lazy fat azz DT who can’t see the field with a pair of binoculars.

Oh damn ...... wrong draft.

You could be right. He failed on Taco and still traded for Amari. Failing on Hill seems like it would encourage Jerry to part with that pick next year.

I ge tthe argument for keeping it. Its probably smarter for us to keep it with our draft record. We draft pretty well.

But then I think about giving up a 1st and a 2nd for Mo.....and that's not in hindsight I'm saying even knowing what we knew draft night. We were getting the best corner prospect in the draft. We did it knowing he could potentially be a bust. Adams didn't come with that uncertainty. He seems to be on track for a great career.

To me what the Jets asked for was fair. But I understand why someone wouldn't' want to trade all of that for a safety.

If it was his value someone would've paid it.

The fact that no one was willing to give that much shows the Jets overestimated his value.

That’s just it. You could park a new Caddy in the driveway with “$500” in the windshield, and GUARANTEED some idiot would say “Hey! Would you take $450?”

I think you hit the nail on the head. I feel like this is an offer that JJ would have jumped on had he been a CB. I also feel like giving up 2 first rounders is sometimes easier to stomach than a 1st and a 2nd in the same draft. Either way though, bummed this didn't pan out.
