Randall Cobb stock declining

Age definitely seems to be catching up to him. And I have to wonder if it will get worse as the season progresses?

It's quite possible. He had some down time in Green Bay, due to injury, so there's that. I guess we could have done worse, considering the FO got so fed up with Beasley and his growing ego, along with a longing to make the big bucks. I just hope Cobb's health holds up for the rest of the year. If not, maybe Wilson or Smith could step in?!

Nice lame line signifying nothing.

And yet the numbers clearly show that he's been far more productive.

Save the attempted Cowboys bias for someone who doesn't pay attention to the numbers that actually matter.

I like the fun stasheroo. The condescending stasheroo is tough to take so I will end on this...Cobb is the 5th option in Dallas. CB is the 2/3 option in Buffalo. Cobb has not been great in Dallas. Not terrible. The Giants game was bad but the Dallas offense went on hiatus for 3 games so that won’t help the stats.

So Stash, I didn't see catch percentage (which I'd think Beaze would have a higher #) nor targets . Is Cole a more focus or centerpoint of their pass offense? He may be more productive because he's used more.

Cobb began the season looking like a good acquisition in offseason as a suitable replacement for Beasley. Since his injury hasn’t been as productive .

He had the second Dallas turnover contributing to the 12-3 deficit before the Cowboys scored 10 points in the final minute of 1st half to take the lead for good.

He also had a drop in NY territory the last time Cowboys had to settle for a field goal and a 16-12 lead.

Cobb is a high effort player. He just needs to let the game come to him a bit more.

He's just a bit snakebit at present w/penalties and inopportune fumbles and drops, but his moments are coming. He's has two TD's called back for very iffy penalties as well.

I would be all for bringing him back. He's still an excellent player. He's lost zero skill. He is just pressing a bit due to limited touches in this offense.

I have to admit thus far I have been a little disappointed. On the other hand Tavon has looked explosive and quick in his limited opportunities. I thought for sure after his electrifying TD run versus the Eagles he’d figure in the game plan more Monday night.

WR come to Dallas to DIE.....Wait and see how Coops rec yards take a massive DIVE the next 6 games....look for it..... look for it....BAM reality time!

I don't miss Beasley's attitude either, but that doesn't mean I'll ignore the fact that he's been more productive in Buffalo than Cobb has been here to this point.

Cobb's miscues and the turnovers have me frustrated with him.

Apples to Oranges. Buffalo doesn't have a WR group anywhere near Dallas, of course Cole is going to get more looks.

Cobb was 1-year stopgap and is fine in that role at his price.
He likely isn't a long-term solution at slot.
All that said he has held off other guys for reps thus far and there doesn't appear to be an obvious option to steal reps from him as Tavon is getting next to no burn.

Cobb's misque's have been more noticeable lately. If it keeps getting worse, they will cut him at seasons end anyway. At least he is healthy. Coop is still not 100% and I am not sure about Gallup being 100% yet.

I do wish Jarwin would get more involved. I love Witt but Jarwin is just a better athlete. Witt does like to tick off the giants fans which cracks me up. He seems to play well against them. :)

Beasley is likely a better player than Cobb.
Beasley is very unlikely a better player by the margin of their contracts.

Cobb is undoubtedly a better blocker and more able to break tackles/handle contact.
Beasley has better hands, runs better routes and commits few if any penalties.

I like Tavon but I also worry about his ball security especially when returning punts. He is explosive and can hurt you.

Sorry, he came out when the "I watch the games" line did. It's condescending and foolish. And unappreciated.

More "fuzzy math"?

Cobb has not been great in Dallas. Not terrible. The Giants game was bad but the Dallas offense went on hiatus for 3 games so that won’t help the stats.

And what role did Cobb play in that? While balls were bouncing off of his hands into the opponent's?

Beasley's been better. Unbiased numbers make that clear. You don't have to like it, but you can't ignore it either.

And he may be "used more because he's more productive".

Fact is that Cobb has every advantage:
  1. Better quarterback
  2. Better offensive line protecting that quarterback
  3. Better running game opening things up
  4. Better receivers drawing attention away from him
And yet Beasley has outperformed him so far.

I don't think it's an easy assessment either way. As you pointed out, both have strengths and weaknesses.

That said, Beasley's numbers are clearly better. Add in the turnovers that have comes as a result of Cobb, and the results are frustrating.

Beasley has been way better and in a worse offense with a worse quarterback

Exactly. I don't have to like it, but I'm not going to willfully ignore it either. Or watch while somebody else tries to.

He's been pretty bad. 65% catch percentage, tied for 3rd in the NFL in drops while only having 38 targets, and a fumble. With that said, he's been slightly better than Beasley, and the price was right.

So far Cooper has lit it up since his arrival here. Would you like those numbers or was the turn around last season not enough evidence?

Is predicting his “ Massive Dive” all you have? That sounds like troll like behavior.
