When can we officially call him a bust?

You have to wait until year 3 but my gosh I would've never taken him to begin with.

I really hated this pick and felt like it was a reach.

I'm usually the 1st one to buy into hype with these sparq guys. If you're productive and you have off the charts measurables then i'm all for it but this dude was a jag and now he is our jag.

People on this forum freak out though everytime he goes unblocked and makes a play.

So? It's still stupid to do.

That's something you would find in high school. These are men. It's embarrassing

Most of them really aren't though.

They're kids with inflated ego's and millions of dollars.

Jaylon Smith is a man. Trysten Hill is a kid.

Tired of these project and drafting head cases with red flags base on talent. The same thing with these always injured players. What you got in college is what you get in the pros. Start drafting healthy, goal oriented players who love football.

Our wasted bust so far that had flags in college.

- Randy Gregory
- Taco Charleston
- Trystin Hill

Those are three picks way too many !!! I'm not even going to say anything about the prior picks.

...and Jaylon Smith.

8 games is never btw LOL

Meaning what? That it's never happened before?
Like it never happened with Taco?
Like it never happened with Gavin Escobar?
Like it's never happened with every bust/failure/miss this team has ever had.

"LOL" indeed.

That should have been a huge red flag then

we coddled randy Gregory who is suspended indefinitely. we coddled david irving who essentially spit in our faces and is now out of football. hope we don't make the same mistake with hill. if he's not willing to put in the work and cares so little he misses meetings, just cut him and accept the loss. bring back the asthma field.

Yeah.. We don't have the luxury of doing a first hand interview as fans but even with just some simple youtube scouting this player was underwhelming.

The Cowboys fell in love with the measurables and now all we can do is hope.

Maybe maturity and giving him more on the field responsibility will help him grow quicker but right now he's just a wasted 2nd rounder.

For a team that skips free agency we can't just have non-contributing picks like this.

I wouldn't cut him. I'd make him "Donny Don't" and the poster boy for what not to do. Fine him, suspend him, deactivate him, whatever you need to do to make an example out of him. But cutting him just gives him another opportunity to screw-up elsewhere.

Just make sure you fire the men who led the charge for Hill and Taco Charlton to be here.

People laugh when Garrett says this but it’s really true you need players that love football. Hill probably fell out of love with football at UCF and just said whatever he needed to to get drafted to get his $.

a rookie contract is still life changing money for 98% of the world if you don’t blow it

You get called out in the media for 2 incidents of laziness and you STILL are late. Either he wants to be cut or he has altitude issues of not understanding

This is what the FO and the staff gets for heeding Marinelli when he sees a DT that he pounds the table for.

From here on, they should plug their ears whenever he's got something to say about a prospective signee!!

What's worse is the talent that was skipped over this guy.

I see no reason to keep malcontents in the company of those willing to put in the time and effort to succeed. sets a horrible precedent, imo. I prefer the "nip it in the bud" approach to trouble makers.

I can respect a difference of opinion. But I'm still smarting from the release of this team's 2017 1st round pick. To follow that up with cutting a 2nd rounder after less than one year? Too much for me, especially while the coaches who led the charge for both and overruled scouts still get to keep their jobs.

I'd still take that type of risk in the future. He was a legit top 10 talent. He's a different situation than Hill or Charlton.

I haven't seen his top 10 production yet. He probably blew it by smoking the dope !!!

He is the exception. But he was mainly healthy in college. He only experience a really bad injury his game as pro. Situations like that I'm okay with but they broke body thugs out hoodlums need to go!!!!
