Well given our previous games, since we can't seem to beat good teams even when they have multiple starters out, how do you think we will fare against the rest of our schedule? This is the team who couldn't score a TD against the hobbled saints, gave the Jets their first win and made Sam Darnold look like Joe Namath, Couldn't beat GB without their best receiver, just imagine what the score would have been with Adams out there, and made Cook look like a Barry Sanders, Emmitt smith hybrid. The next Skins and Eagles games are no gimmies either. So logically, a betting man would say not only the division is lost, but we will be lucky to see 8-8. Let's just blow smoke up each other's rear ends though and say it's all sunshine an rainbows.
The Eagles have their own problems as well, the division is far from lost. We have several winnable games left on our schedule. The two possible losses would be NE and Philthy, both could go either way.

I counted one thread topic on the front page that was positive. We had a close loss to a good team, the world isn’t over. All of these threads about the division being lost, the team sucks, etc are such an over reaction and it’s depressing. We have a few lay ups left (Washington, Bears, Detroit, even the Rams suck now) but we lose a couple close hard fought games and everyone throws a temper tantrum.

This is football, we’ll win some and lose some. Luckily our division sucks and we’re never out of it. The coaches some of you blow all lost games this weekend and actually haven’t looked too great this year.

Saints lost to a one win team, Rams are looking bad, Andy Reid and the Chiefs have predictably choked once again, the Colts lost to Miami...the season is far from over but glancing at these threads you would think we just lost the division and a wild card spot.

So what? We lost to a good team and several plays could have changed the outcome. Stop the whining, there’s still plenty of time left. I just hope the players aren’t as mentally weak as some of you because if thats the case then yeah, we should hang it up.

I think people are upset with the big picture in mind.

October basically killed our odds of doing anything and we needed a long run of W's to overcome it with some L's coming to Saints, Packers, Eagles, 9ers.

Now all we can hope for is a wild card which leads to us going on the road and taking a divisional L at best.

Season is over if you can keep it real with yourself. I hope they somehow overcome it and do something magical but let's be honest. These guys find ways to lose. That's what you can expect under Garrett.

Who hacked Aria’s account? The real Aria wound have the torches and pitchforks going.
I try to keep things real. I get criticized for being “ho hum” after beating some of the worst teams in the league when everyone else is on cloud 9 and talking about great we are and I get criticized for staying positive after barely losing to good teams where one or two plays could have changed the game.

Can’t win here, I guess I need to be unrealistic and over exaggerate every win and loss to fit in with the rest of the drama queens.

I think you are misunderstanding fans’ reactions. It’s not about fans being mentally weak. It’s about fans having seen this movie 24 straight seasons.
I get that and I share the frustration but the season is farm from over. We started off 3-5 last year and look what happened. I’m just sick of the black hole mentality. I cautioned people after beating the Giants and was flamed for being negative, never have anything positive to say, etc. so I barely posted all week. Now this happens and people act shocked.

I thought we would win but that it would be a close game. We didn’t get blown out, we lost a hard fought game and the season is far from over. Every game we’ve played against a good team could have gone either way and could go either way in the playoffs. The over reaction is disturbing.

Ok great so when the Cowboys get into the playoffs it's one and done because the Cowboys can't beat anyone with a winning record that's basically what your post says!
No, no it doesn’t, nice try.

Understand the view, you're right the season is far from over but every game the Cowboys have played against a playoff caliber team they came up short this season. Good to see them be competitive, but unless they can start winning these games it will be an early playoff exit.

Need to make some changes fast because they will likely need to go 5-2 or 6-1 down the stretch to even make the playoffs. Tall order so I can understand why even optimists have turned a bit negative.
Our remaining schedule is much easier than what it appeared at the beginning of the season. I see two possible losses and both of those games could go either way.

You’re absolutely right about our losses against playoff caliber teams but any of those games could have been W’s if it weren’t for one or two plays. The Saints game was very winnable and had Zeke or Witten not fumbled we would have won. People are saying we will lose the division because of a team we just stomped (granted they did have some injuries but that’s no excuse)? Just two weeks ago all I read was about how great this team is, Philly sucks, blah blah blah....and now they’re the team that will win the division because we loat a close game to a good team?

You don't get it! This was our game to win and the play calling at the end was stupid. Garrett got cute and started thinking about the clock and we took our foot off the gas instead of scoring.
I get it plenty, it’s delusional people like you who are completely lost and unrealistic.

Jerry just called...he seemed a little drunk. Something about you bringing your knee-pads the next time you visit the Star...?
I gave you a like for your creatively funny vulgar post. Sounds like something I would say :)

What if I told you my knees have callouses so I don’t use knee pads?

I don’t care if a coach won a Super Bowl, that doesn’t make them great. Sometimes coaches catch lightning in a bottle. So if Garrett won a Super Bowl this year would you be happy to extend him for another 10 years and defend him as a coach because he won one Super Bowl?
No I wouldn’t. Even a blind person can see Garett is a terrible head coach. If me and my 12 year old can call the play before it happens there is a problem.
Btw, I wanted to fire Wade after going 13-3.

I’m not arguing with what you’re saying, you have valid points but you are cherry picking. Every coach, good and bad, makes questionable calls that if they work out they are geniuses and if they don’t they are chastised. Garrett didn’t lose this game, some people have a much higher opinion of the quality of players we have then what’s reality. Too many people here live in a Cowboys bubble, it’s almost as if they don’t watch any other football than the Cowboys.
Our talent is above league average. We had a better team than the Vikes. They plain out schemed us and bullied us on offense. You bottle up Cook we win by 20. Kirk is not capable of throwing anything other than play action.
Btw my cherry picking can happen during any single game of the year.

You just don't get it do you? Garret ain't taking this team anywhere. The Four Horseman Of The Apocalypse are as follows:

1. Bad coaching/ownership...seems set and immutable...barring a fan revolt of epic proportions.
2. An overrated defense that hasn't YET reached elite status during Marinelli's entire tenure in Dallas. With all the money in the offense...how much better can this unit be with the current coaching kept in place?
3. A quarterback that needs a terrific amount of talent around him...talent that is likely to slowly be degraded once his desired remunerations are secured...to say nothing of the defense.
4. A deluded fan base in perpetual denial and one that continues to tolerate the Jeckyll and Hyde act that the Cowboys continue to be under Garrett.

There are some on this board that remember what a championship team looks like...and the one in Dallas at present doesn't qualify...not even close. They are paper champions who need a boot up their ***...somebody with a hammer. Garrett ain't that guy. His situational awareness during games hasn't changed much from his earlier years.

Five people need to be gone from this situation: Garrett, Moore, Marinelli, Richard and the defensive line coach...for starters. The sooner that sh## happens the better off this team will be...otherwise it's going to be more of the same...more goop sandwiches served up by Chef Jones with naive fans continuing to swallow it up and beg for more.

Jimmy Johnson has a saying..."you get the level of performance you tolerate." Fans nationwide need to GET this.
I do get it and I understand what you’re saying but coaching hasn’t lost our games this season. Coaching didn’t lose against New Orleans and coaching didn’t lose last night. There’s so many plays that can be questioned but if the players actually executed than those plays wouldn’t even be a thought. For example, last week we hit a 55+ FG against the Giants IIRC. No one said a word, it was all praises. This week he misses it and it’s apparently a game deciding decision

This is what I am talking about when i say Posters are going to be happy"

People are going to defend this mediocrity because they love it, they have trained their minds to have no standards, not understand history and flat out believe PR machines. They watched the truth last night, some of us fans are correct, this team is nothing and going no where and they WILL NOT listen nor understand.

Garrett can come out and say "I have no plans to take this team anywhere" and they will refuse to believe it.

The current status of the Cowboys franchise: Joke in the NFL.

I don’t think anyone thinks we should go undefeated. I do think we should be 8-1 right now though. And honestly does it even matter if we make the playoffs? We know our coaches aren’t capable of winning consecutive big games so our stay would be short and it would only give Jerry another reason to keep the clown around. Best to tank this year and purge the staff and then after they’re gone give the offices a good enema to get all the stank out.
So other than Bill Bellicheat, what coach is capable of winning multiple big games? Maybe Pete, the same guy that didn’t hand the ball to Marshawn in the Super Bowl with one yard to go for a TD which resulted in a INT instead? Who exactly are these coaches that consistently deliver in the playoffs? Payton maybe? He has one Super Bowl and has had much more talent to work with over the years than Garrett.

Who are these mythical coaches that constantly win playoff games. Please, please, please bring up Andy Reid, I dare you.

How is it over? We still have to play Philthy who we just stomped and many here were bragging about how bad they are, we also have the Patsies who have had the easiest schedule in the league so it’s a possible W. The rest of our games are against more sub .500 teams for the mist part. Even the Rams look pathetic this year.

Again, how is it over just because we lost a close game to a good team?

Truly a well thought out and truth based post on your part here bro. Excellent work. The cold hard reality you put into words here is an opinion I share and my fandom apathy level increases with each passing year for all of your aforementioned reasons. It's like I'm more a part of a small support group rather than large fan base because of the minority understanding of big picture Cowboys reality.
Great post. Totally agree with all of it.

oh shut up and put your pom poms down. It's been 24 years of crap, and 9 years of this crap coaching. Celebrating mediocrity is the definition of being mentally weak.

Celebrating? Lol, ok. You’re clearly not familiar with my posts, but I’d be curious to browse through yours and see how high and mighty you were after beating some of the worst teams in the league.
