I still do not understand why people rely on comparing stats of one quarterback to another on various teams.

They do not have the same offensive line.

They do not have the same running back.

They do not have the same receivers.

They do not have the same defense.

They do not have the same coaching.

I have said this before but it's like comparing Formula One drivers in different cars.

Would Lewis Hamilton have won six World Championships if he was driving a Williams? Obviously not.

Would Sergio Perez have won a World Championship if he was driving a Mercedez over the past six years in place of Lewis Hamilton? Most likely yes and probably more than one.

Would Tom Brady have won six Superbowls at the Cleveland Browns? Obviously not.

Would Aaron Rodgers have won more than one Superbowl if at the New England Patriots? Obviously yes.

So I ask myself this question - what record would I expect a franchise quarterback in his fourth year to have on this Dallas Cowboys roster?
Even with this coaching, given that the QB is a fourth year starter, and, not a rookie so should have the ability to read extensive defensive coverages and audible at the line of scrimmage, then I would be expecting us to be 7-2.

There have been issues with the defense and the coaching etc but I would still expect a franchise quarterback to have won two games vs the Saints, Packers, Vikings and especially the Jets.

So that's why for me the jury is still out on whether Prescott is a franchise quarterback.

If you consider me to be a moron then that is your prerogative.
And another one.

Dak’s stats haven’t been poor the large majority of his career though. Top 10 in the league since entering the NFL actually. And thats including his bad slump where he did suck for like a 12 game stretch.

but at least you tried.
top 10 sense 2016????? What stat is that?

Cousins did play well last night.

his defense and running game gave him much more help than Dak’s gave him though.
Same old same old on Dak and its sad, Dak owns any one that the DC beat to Dak worshipers, I guess Darnold owns Dak and now Cousins does too. I know Dak didn't throw that bad pass at the end to lose the game it was the bad route by Zeke why is everyone so blind. Dak had a great game one a few he has had, looks much improved this year, but not elite or a franchise QB to many. Old Rock brain starts out insulting people what a sad sack of crap he must be.

Even if they played on the same team it wouldn't be fair.

Did the players all execute to the exact same level?

What was the weather like?

What did they have for dinner the night before?

Is everything ok on the homefront?

So many damn variables. I guess we will never be able to truly compare two players. Enlightening, thanks bro.

To be fair your sarcasm does amuse me - fair play.

I guess you would take Trent Dilfer over Dan Marino because he won a Superbowl...

The morons are the ones who think some of these QBs that have been benched and are journeyman’s would be a better option than Dak.

I rarely live and die with ONE player.

Comparisons will never be perfect.

As far as franchise qb labels go I sat on the fence a long time, but its clear Dak has become a good to great qb. All of the arguments are slowly being dismissed.

He can barely throw for over 200 yards

He only dinks and dunks

He cant make reads, slow to process.

He had no pocket presence

He can only succeed with a dominant run game

Ect.

His actual game play, his stats and all of the advanced metrics show hes winning.

I have no problem with people who are still deciding, despite my obvious differences of OPINION.

The ones who get on my last nerve are those who made up their mind in 2017 and refuse to be fluid in the face of mounting evidence to the contrary.

Harsh.

I have been curious if anyone, who considers Prescott is not a franchise quarterback, has ever stopped and wondered why their opinion is completely different from the one Jerry Jones has had since October 2016? Admittedly, that timeframe may be conservative. It is possible Jones was completely sold on Prescott before the end of September 2016.

Jerry Jones???? I would be afraid of the folk who agree with him, as we all know Jerry's acumen on talent evaluation. There is one moron OP who does agree with Jerry we know for sure. For many the jury is still out as the strong support cast needed to carry Dak doesn't justify his status as a franchise type QB or $$$$, just this "morons" view.

You state Dak is all great and a Franchise QB.
Why is he 2-10 when Zeke is for whatever reasons not producing???
Where is the FRANCHISE when you need him to bail you out?
NOWHERE!!!!!
They carry Dak, not the other way around.....
Elliott can't even carry a football.. Nevermind Carrie Prescott. LMAO

I'd like to see more and i'd like to see it for about 27 million a year for about 4 years.

He played like a grown man against the Vikings though and thats usually the type of game that I do not want Prescott on my team and he was probably the best player on the field along with Dalvin Cook, Cooper, and Quinn.

Not a bad definition of an elusive term. The answer with Dak is obviously “no”. The recent salary structure wasn’t around for some of those guys though. Heck I don’t even know how many teams would sign Dak in free agency for any price when they could draft their own cost controlled QB who has more talent than Dak and a shot at a much higher (and lower) ceiling as well. Back in the day, the financial cost of the rookie QBs was just as enormous as the draft cost.

You're being purposefully blind if you don't think there are a lot of NFL teams that would sign Dak in free agency to a number much higher than what you believe his worth is. He's played nearly 4 years with a career 97.1 rating and a top QBR over that time frame. There are a lot of NFL teams that would kill for that level of production over that long of a time frame.

Finding even average QB play in the NFL is very difficult for a lot of teams much less objectively good or above.
