Played WR in college. 6' 2" 205lbs. Runs a 4.53 in the 40.

Can they keep him one week then cut and place him on our practice squad, so they can call up Olumba?

Since he was signed off another team's PS, he is locked in. Can't recall how long, 2 or 3 weeks?

..hey guys, the old saying kicks in, ... "One man's trash, is another man's treasure". You never know..

Exactly, David Irving was one of these signings until he imploded and we know almost nothing about this guy Burton.

But he sucks. He just has to.

Lewis will probably step up to Brown's role. This is more about having another body. I don't think they feel Goodwin can do it.

i'll bet Goodwin will see more time than this Deante Burton and listed ahead on the depth chart, when game day active list is announced.

so faster than Olumba,if they think Olumba is too slow then there is no need to keep him on the PS.

former wr

WR Deante Burton (6-1 7/8, 200) ran an identical pair of 40s in 4.52 seconds, had a 38-inch vertical, a 10-foot-10 broad jump, a 4.13-second short shuttle, a 6.79-second three-cone drill, and didn't participate in the bench press. He's a smooth route runner who didn't have a single drop in his workout.

Yah... all he has done is play well in the preseason and make plays lol

Why would anyone think he may deserve a shot lol?

The way this team operates and makes decisions is baffling
Yeah it’s amazing that professional coaches who are around these guys daily don’t know as much as you do. Baffling

He's outside depth only. Can't play the slot and is just too slow to ever considered to be a starter. Nothing wrong with having a guy around for emergency use only if it's on the ps.

What's the purpose if you won't put him on the roster even when you suffer season-ending injuries? It's a wasted space if that's the case.

Goodwin plays on the ST units almost exclusively, so he is usually active anyways. This just means that they have Burton around to fill snaps as needed.

I don't know what this player has over Olumba. You have to wonder if takes this as a slap in the face, making him unlikely to sign back to a futures deal at the end of the year. I would not blame him.

"Made plays in the preseason" is about the worst reason ever to activate a guy from your practice squad.

Emergency situation, where multiple CBs are hurt and you need a guy for one game.
