This isn’t bad luck

Since we won our last Super Bowl twenty three years ago, 12 different NFL teams have won the last 23 SBs, 10 of the 16 NFC teams have won the last 23 NFC championships, and 13 of the 16 NFC teams have won at least divisional playoff games. None of them is named Dallas.

Only the skins and the lions join us in not playing in an NFC championship game since then.

That kind of playoff drought in this era of NFL parity is not bad luck. It’s not the NFL “cheating us”. It’s just bad football management, a bad culture, and maybe even some bad karma. That’s what this pig headed owner has done to this once great franchise. Anyone else remember when we were what the patriots are now?

It’s not bad luck that has tarnished the star. It’s bad leadership at the top.

And there is nothing anyone can do about it. We will be in football purgatory hell as long as Jerry owns the team.

Yeah Jerry has failed this franchise and somewhere deep inside he knows it. Probably why he drinks.

This is what you get with the combination of a runaway ego as a celebrity and no repercussions for failure. This is the old starlet that keeps showing up and getting applause in the form of financial support.

In his egocentric mind, he's built an empire complete with the most watched sports franchise in the world and if we think he didn't puff out his chest when the ratings revealed the most watched regular season game in 13 years, we've not been watching close enough. He holds himself solely responsible for that....along with that team that keeps winning rings.

This isn't just a football team, it's much more than that, it's his own personal relevancy arena and the opportunity to show off his toys. Are you aware of what any other owner has? Do they feel the need to make sure the media gets the details on his possessions?

But, I do not blame Booger. I blame myself because I continue to follow this team, although not with the gusto and passion I once had. Even though I've never given him one cent of revenue since he bought the team, I still allow him space in my mind and my time and that is currency.

So, this is what we're resigned to, Groundhog Day with Booger hoping he'll get lucky because the fact is he's not good enough without luck. Waiting for him to die so the next generation can step in. "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss". We seem to never tire of getting fooled again.

However, I am on the downside. My fond memories of great teams of the past are slowly being replaced by the futility and as I was once spoiled by expecting the playoffs, now that has become the goal.

Winning a playoff game is who we are now. We do not want to accept that but that's who we are, we are the Lions and Skins. All of that America's Team is the window dressing.
“Groundhog Day with Booger”....so true CC! I think that should be the title of your ramblin’-scramblin’ NY times best selling non-fiction book! A cathartic journey of Cowboys fans trapped in Jones-hell with all the humor and spice of a Couch Coach tome’. A coffee table book for the disaffected Cowboys fan!

I'll wait for you to provide actual evidence of said manipulation. *pulls up a chair* :muttley:

Note: photos of bad calls are not evidence of a conspiracy. They're evidence of bad calls.

Show me one whistle blower. Anything. Until then you're lumped in with the other guys who need a boogeyman because they can't accept the abject failure of their favorite team.
Go rewatch the Pats/Jax championship game from the 2017 season. Watch it all, especially the plays that were called back and drives that were perpetuated by penalty.

Evidence provided. I'll wait...pulls up a chair....

Players are professionals , but human also. They've just been told by the owner that their HC sucks. Think they believe in the process now? How many are thinking why should I do this? the guy will be gone next year anyways.

Who hired and continues to employ this head coach and is most responsible for the last 23 seasons and counting? Beginning, middle and end of story.
Well your not going to tell me that its Jerry because of the talent on the roster are you?

No, you are going to tell me its Jerry because of the losers he hires like Garrett.

Talent isn't the problem. Its Jerry hiring morons like Garrett to run the talent.
Gaping holes at key positions has been a problem for a long time and remains so. We've been making opposing QB's look better than they are/were way back when Vince Young was starting. And we don't even understand why.

Easy answer. Pass rush. Upsetting the opposing QB is the great equalizer in this league. To do so you need a deep and talented DLine. We don't. The DLine is an afterthought to Jerry, and that's why this "luck" factor you're referring to won't happen to us.

Exactly. Appreciate the reply. “IF” we had Lawrence, Irving and Gregory maybe to compare to their version of Strahan, Tuck and Osi and then JPP, Tuck and Osi.

Although some would debate you that Lawrence, Bennett and Quinn are just as credible. This stance may have some credibility. I think in the Giants case in both years their formidable trios got hot just at the right time too. During the playoffs. I still remember 2011 when the Giants beat the Jets in the reg season at the end of the year and as I was watching I was like “Uh oh, their pass rush looks like it did in ‘O7.”

Kind of that gut feeling when you watched Atlanta not convert that third down after Julios great sideline catch. You’re like “my gut tells me Brady is fixing to start the comeback now.”

Watershed moments and capitalizing on opportunities, Getting hot at the end of the year...

Just seems like 2 foreign concepts for this team to grasp much less perform.

If only ...
  • JERRY didnt dedicate an entire draft to special teams
  • Jerry didnt hire a "cold weather specialist" kicker
  • Jerry wanted to really win even if it wasnt his way
  • Jerry would have shunned that hack George Strait from "performing" at the stajum

Also, if only Jerry did not waste the entire 2009 draft.

Then make Jerry the target .

Jerry is an idiot for hiring Garrett and Garrett sucks.

Defending Garrett by changing the subject to Jones doesn't make your claim that Garrett has done a great job any less commical.

You are Garrett fan and you have been proven dead wrong over and over and over and over again.

My God even Jerry is cutting up his own coach.

You are a pathetic Cowboys fan, lets just put it that way.

Its fans like YOU that are the reason Garrett hasn't been run out of town yet.

You’re right to say the officiating was awful. Those tripping calls were ridiculous. But the point of this thread addresses the bigger problem of the way this owner chooses to run this organization. Jerry is more responsible for where this team is than any officiating bad calls.

I don't disagree. We all know what rolls down hill...
