If you can only have one next year who is your pick? Cooper or Dak?

He owes his career and next contract to Dallas. He's looking at being the top paid WR in the NFL next year. That wasn't happening in Oakland. So, maybe there will be some consideration given, but it going to cost Jerry a lot more than it would have prior to that trade.

he doesn’t owe anything, especially after the “Dak-friendly” offense failed experiment, with Dak setting records in futility that were about to surpass Quincy Carter.

I keep Dak if I have to choose one.

I still find it humorous that people are calling Dak below average. I guess they don't remember the 2015 season with Cassell, Weedon, and Moore. Want to talk about a QB crapfest? There's one for you.

I for one wouldn't throw out the QB who's on pace to hit close to 5000 yards this season. Average or not, that proves he can compete in this league. Everyone who dislikes Dak will be quick to point out, "The Cowboys haven't beaten a team with a winning record this year". While true, the last I checked, there were at least 21 other starters who took the field in those games as well. My point is, where are all the sacks from DLaw? Where are all the TDs from Zeke? Where are all the turnovers from the Defense? Where are all the points from missed FGs? I'm not pointing to any one of those as the reason for losing games, I am merely saying there is plenty of blame to go around for the teams horrible performance this year.

I would have to pay Cooper, we gave up a first round for him and he has produced for us. I would have to think that if we got a young fresh QB in here he could nurture and create chemistry with him too.

Dak is solid, but has not been consistent enough in my mind to warrant to throwing out the kind of money he and his agent are holding out for.

So if I had to go with one it would be Coop.

The first round pick is a sunk cost and should not factor in. If you want Amari, that's fine, although if we lost Dak, I *may* be willing to let him go and start over. Probably try and get out of the Zeke deal as well.

what on earth does one have to do with the other?

With the year spiraling out of control and still no contracts in sight I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone thought.

If you could only keep one of the two players Cooper or Dak to build around next year, who would you pick and why?
Dak….at this point its easier to replace cooper than Dak….

Lmao, so now we're paying someone whom isnt as good as Dak. Then we're still drafting a guy that we will hope in 3-5 years will be as good as Dak.

Congrats, that's worse.

Obviously, you don't know what you're talking about. Have you even looked at Bridgewaters stats? I doubt it...so let me help you. He's 22-12 in his career with a 65% comp rate and 38 TD's and 25 INT's. When he actually started all 16 games in Minnesota, he led them to an 11-5 record and a division title. Dak hasn't got 11 wins, since his rookie season and he won't this year either. You simply don't know what Bridgewater can do in this offense (Kellen Moore) and neither does anybody else. Drafting a guy we hope in 3-5 years can be as good as Dak...um really? Again, you don't know what you're talking about and how the game is changing. Ask Lamar Jackson who NOBODY thought would be tearing up the league in his second year...if at all. While you're at it, go ask Saints fans if they would rather have Dak or Bridgewater if Brees retires. I think you know the answer.

What will we miss without Dak?
2016 was due primarily to ZEKE and Dak was new to the league no film yada yada well you get the idea.
Tell us now from 2017 and onwards what will we miss from Prescott?
His anemic Red-Zone offense? His Panic attacks, his very poor Pocket awr that brings along a bunch of fumbles.
His inaccurate arm?
The fact we are unable to beat a good defense and are always behind score wise in the majority of our games?
6-6 do it for you bud?
If you like what you see about our offense than you have a very SMALL cup when it comes to expectations about our Cowboys.

I don't pay massive money to either one of them.

They disappear.
With all this disappearing its amazing Dak is able to lead the league in passing yrds and 3rd in tds. Guess he would throw for over 7000 yrds if he was there all of the time.

Who wants a Marino type QB, if it doesn't get you a ring?
Is this progress...

13-3
9-7
10-6
6-6...?

He does it against nobodies and in garbage time against somebodies.

He has the best talent around him in the league.

When he does it against good defenses when it matters, I'll change my mind.

This foolish because we all know this will just turn out to be another Prescott bashing thread. beside Jones will do whatever he has to to get both signed.

Keep Dak. Tougher to replace a QB than a WR, plus Cooper seems to be hurt every game, and though he hasn't missed a game, he's missed a lot of plays in those games and I think it's just a matter of time before he spends significant time out with an injury.

You forget he missed the jets game with an injury.

Incorrect. Not unless JJ finds a loophole in the system.

And when did you become the Cowboys capologist? Actually there is a loophole that can be used. In the final year of the CBA teams can use both the franchise tag and the transition tag in the same year. But other than that, your proclamations don't mean squat.

I think the bigger question is what does everyone feel about Gallup...…………..is he ready to ascend to #1 WR status? If he is, then the answer is easy...…….keep Dak.

Capologist? Really? I'm just speaking the truth. Situations like this never end well.

And Quite frankly, my proclamations mean nothing to YOU. In that case, I don't care. You're in a long line of people that don't like me here, buddy. Get in the back of the line.

I like MG, but he's not ready. Jets game was an example of that. We didn't have Amari or Cobb, and he couldn't step up. Granted he was still off of injury, but he had a lot of crucial drops. He needs more time and needs to be paired up with someone like Amari to succeed IMO.

Lol you go with the QB.

You go with whomever the new Coaching Staff wants to go with. You don't saddle the new staff with yet another mega deal that locks up cap for several years. Maybe you don't go with either one. Maybe you go with both but you let the new HC make that call.

Cooper without Dak makes no sense at all. You don't build the WR core before you have a franchise QB. Matt Millen proved the point.

Cooper is going to be able to run routes and get open, no matter who the QB is. I don't see how this statement can be possible. I mean, I'm not saying you sign one over the other but Cooper is going to be a really good WR no matter what uniform he is wearing.

Again where's your "truth"? Have you had many many long discussions with Jones and he told you there is zero chance he could get both signed? All your doing is projecting your uninformed opinion as some kind of facts or truth. Bad try.
