It also took Henry about three years to finally produce. EzE did it day 1.
Yes and No

Titans had the rights to Murray for 4 more years on a decent salary contract so it's not like Henry was picking his nose and wasn't trying (Murray had almost 300 carries in 2016 and almost 200 in 2017 so Henry wasn't going to to rack up flashy stats).

"Took 3 years to finally do something" instigates that it was in his control when it wasn't

Good oline and decent qb? Yeah similar. Unless the same people hating on Dez want to prop him up to put Zeke down. Those agendas are spooky
I think he was referring to already having a high dollar runningback getting almost 300 carries a year...... (yeah not similiar situations at all).

Simliar situation would be Zeke getting drafted to the Steelers in 2016 but they already have Bell carrying majority of the snaps...... (lol at "uhhh yeah it's similiar situation")

I have said since before that draft that the best move would be to take Ramsey or whatever defensive player you like with that #4 pick and take Henry in the 2nd rd

How much better would we be if we had done that? And how much better would the salary cap look right now?

Ramsey? Lmao. Would have been Mo Claiborne 2.0 here in this junk defense. Why do people keep bringing him up? He was never going to help this team.

"More first downs"

So, again, this is another "Zeke gets those tough 2 yards, while he struggles to get 10" - Zeke has been on a decline since his rookie season.

Everyone knows Barkley is hampered by an injury. No one called him an iron man. Yes, Zeke is durable....and he's been a little above average this year while healthy. Really worth that $100 million.

Decline since his rookie year yet led the NFL in rushing last year and in 2017 before he was suspended. This is his first year he has slid down. So your accusation he has been on a decline since his rookie year is ridiculous. Zeke has been great every year except this one.

Henry finally has one season where he is better than Zeke and now Henry is better? Lmao. Arbitrary stat lines are fun.

Zeke is still going to have about 1400 yards this year and about 12-14 touchdowns. If you told me he's going to continue to do that over the course of his contract i would take it.

Everyone wants to compare zeke to other players. Look at dalvin cook tonight, hurt again. He was hurt last year. Derrick Henry hasn't been consistent in his career as noted. Todd Gurley not the same player. Christian mcaffrey is having a sick year but will he hold up.

One of ezekiel elliot's biggest strengths is durability. He can be relied on every season. Going to have 3 out of 4 seasons with at least 1400 yards! He gives you 1400 yards and 12 tds a season for the next 5-6 years he's lock for hall of fame.

It will be interesting to see what kind of a deal Henry gets after this season.

Zeke: 314 carries for 1,350 yards and 7 TDs

Henry: 319 carries for 1,725 yards and 18 TDs

Last 2 seasons

Henry 34 catches for 299 yards, 2 tds

Elliott 116 catches for 893 yards, 4 TDs.

Also, Zeke is the best pass blocking RB in the league.

What do compete back mean?

Doesn’t matter. Zeke has been great to good to solid since he came into the league in 2016. He’s worth that 4th overall pick.

Henry was the guy who was supposed to wear down quick.

For years people have complained that Zeke was saddled with a QB that couldn’t throw down the field and Zeke faced a ton of stacked boxes as a result.

Henry has had a worse QB and faces many more stacked boxes than Zeke does.

I said the same numbers meaning everything not just ypc. But we both know the answer.

If you looked at the game logs it’s obvious to see they weren’t utilizing him much. He had a ton of single-digit carry games.

It wasn’t like he was tallying 22 carries for 52 yards week after week.

If zeke had henrys 2018. "We payed 100 mil and our back has gone 12 weeks without 100 yards". I know how it goes in the zone

If this version of Zeke had Henry’s carries (just 215) in 2018 he probably wouldn’t have cracked 1,000 yards.

You probably stop playing FF if you can’t fathom basic usage brainiac.

This thread is a painful reality check on many levels. Premium pick used on a RB, then we reset the market with his 2nd contract. Only to see who we should have drafted in the 2nd round (along with an unnamed all pro CB we should have taken with #4) outplaying our guy? Not good.

I don’t even think it’s about Zeke vs. Henry. Rather, it’s Zeke vs. other good backs that aren’t getting paid top dollar for similar and often better production.

Both good backs but Zeke is showing his diva status.

Zeke may be ranked 6th in yards but he has the fewest 20+ yard runs (2) and zero 40 yard runs out of the top 13 backs. His yards coming from bulk carries mostly. Henry has 150 more yards on only 5 more carries.

This is another pro zeke stat in my mind. He’s in the top of yards, and yet, he doesn’t even have those 40 plus yard runs, and he has the same amount of carries as these guys. So he has to be getting CHUNKS of yards on most of his rushes. Him consistently getting between 5 and 9 yards on a lot of his rushes is severely undervalued by the board, just cause it doesn’t make it to “highlight” reels.
