it has been reported he'll be seeking a new 10 million dollar deal from the network. he won't get anywhere near that kind of money coaching.

Some of the thoughts shared on who should be head coach just floor me...

Romo was a wonderful QB, but he never seemed like a leader.

Couldn't imagine him as head coach of the Cowboys... Never.

Me thinks that these threads are sometimes started as a way to criticize Romo on whatever shortcomings he may have to deflect from the current failure we now have at the Qb position.

I actually think Romo would be helpful with a defense.

Tony Romo should be a strong candidate H.C. with his knowledge and experience in the pros. I would take him over Urban Myers 24/7.

Based on what? Just like Garrett before him, Romo has NEVER been a HC at ANY LEVEL of football. Hell, as smart as he obviously is, he’s never even been a coordinator. And, I love the knowledge Romo throws out every game. But, a legit HC needs to be able to wear many hats effectively at the same time. Not sure Romo is ready for that.

Why would Romo want to coach, let alone the Cowboys? He makes millions and has a really nice schedule. Right now, most people like him or at most are meh about him. That all changes with being a coach.

Not really, Romo would have been seriously long term injured if he continued playing. Certainly Romo did not join any other team in defiance. There were good teams interested in getting him on board.
Romo being the smart man that he is with a young family, retired. If Romo returned to the Cowboys in some coaching capacity I doubt payback would be in his mind. Also his back isn't "paying" either anymore.
Did he ever actually "Officially" retire?

When you hire someone who has never coached, you're hiring someone for on the job training. I wouldn't mind seeing Romo as an assistant but I don't want him as a coordinator.

Ben and Skin mentioned on their podcast that Romo doesn't want to spend hours on end at the facility so he'll most likely never be a coach. They said Witten is wired different and that being Cowboys coach is actually his dream job.

speaking of Ben and Skin, did they get canned again? I now hear the K&C Masterpiece in there demoted time slot.

Choosing a lazy player that never coached but sounds smart on TV over a coach that has won 3 national championships, wins big every stop, revolutionized college offenses, considered by many to be the best college coach in this generation, and wants to come here.

Gosh Dallas fans are stupid.

Dallas fans have gotten used to settling for mediocrity.

Lmao

CZ: I dont want Meyer. He has no NFL experience and college coaches dont translate well to the NFL.

Also CZ: Hire Romo!

I am/was a big Tony Romo fan. It seems like you're trying to get me to talk trash about him, which I simply don't want to do. If he had Will McClay I think the team might have won more, but I can't say I'm absolutely sure of that.

He may know & understand all of the nuances of the game, but I don't think he's the guy to take the Boys to the next level.

Romo is not interested in coaching.

He will be making more money per year than Belichick and only working 1 day per week and only during the football season.

The networks are going to have a bidding war. He will be the highest paid broadcaster in sports and make more than any coach in the NFL.

Romo really likes to play golf. He would barely be able to do that if he was an NFL coach.

The only coaching Romo might be doing is for his son's team(s).

Romo showed as a QB that he doesn’t have the decision making skills to be a good HC. Decision making was one of his biggest flaws.

“If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, I will have lived a good life.” - Tony Romo, after losing to the Eagles, and being eliminated from playoff contention.

No thanks, I don't want a HC that accepts losing so nonchalantly.
