He’s incredibly well regarded in NFL coaching/GM circles. And the fact is there are not a lot of coaches available with 3-4 division titles on their resume.

100% agreed.

I made a post a few weeks back and still believe it holds truth.

Garrett is a good coach in a smaller market. Browns, Titans, Lions, Buccaneers etc. Teams with lesser expectations year in and year out. Teams that are happy to make a playoff and win a game here and there.

He just don’t belong in a big market. Dallas, New England, Pittsburgh etc. where expectations are super bowl or a bad season.

I find it extremely hard to believe that Garrett would be #1 on anyone's list. If he is, it would say alot about what people think of the other candidates. If Garrett is that "highly regarded" in the football world, why isn't he being looked at as a GM?

I keep trying to tell all y'all, this is true for two reasons. Garrett has networked the owners like no other HC and is admired and respected for his loyalty to an owner that meddles in his job and they're all aware of it because the Joneses can't keep their mouths shut. He thinks he's impressing them when it's just the opposite. Why do you think Booger made that comment about 5 teams wanting Garrett? I bet he could have named them because he's seen Garrett the politician at work at the meetings.

That doesn't mean Garrett is a great HC but he will get the benefit of the doubt because of who he works for now. Think some other owner is going to be dumb enough not to surround Garrett with better coaches than those off the scrap heat, looking for work or a newbie like Dallas has done to him?

Believe it or not, there are GM's and owners that actually give Garrett credit for the improvement of the QB and the ranking of the offense with a newbie OC. One fan's trash is another's treasure.

All I know is that the guy has always had suitors. I don't know why but it's been that way since he left Saban. The guy had little experience and ATL and BAL were lining up for him. And while we don't think much of it, he's won the East 3 of the last 5 seasons, how many HC's can say that? I am not a Garrett fan but I am not blind. He will land on his feet and most likely get a better deal.
