We don’t know what Dak is asking for. It’s all media speculation.

Why would any Cowboy fan want to see any Cowboy player flame out? No fan of the team would take delight in seeing our backup QB suck.

We do know Dak was offered around $30 million a year and passed on it

So he's at least asking for more than that

And I'm not taking much delight in seeing the starting QB stink the joint up either.
Might as well see the backup at this point

As for sitting Prescott he didn't practice much this week. They could sit him and definitely have the injury as an excuse. Or they could just say they benched him. Wouldn't be the first QB who got benched or sat down. Teams can play whomever they wish. League can't fine them or discipline them for that

Is comprehension anywhere in your thought process. What is the point of making a change based on frustration if not to truly and ease the frustration? If that isn’t the reason for the change then it’s just a mindless pointless thing to do.

He has given up , hes a frustrated little snowflake because things are not working out . If we had a proven NFL back up say Foles , Fitzpatrick , Bridgewater now that may be a plan . Starting somebody who never won an NFL game when we could still make the playoffs just shows his football IQ.

Let him stamp his feet at the kids table LOLOL

Yes, we do know that $30 million wasn’t enough, but that’s quickly becoming a fairly ordinary level for a starting QBS, plus, starting Rush in a game with playoff implications would do nothing to change that. If the team doesn’t feel Rush has starting potential that simply is what it is and has no bearing on Dak’s contract.

And yes, they could probably conjure up enough of an injury claim to sit Dak, but again, to what end other than to hurt the team’s chances to win?

What if they started Rush and the offense moved the ball fairly well

That wouldn't make you wonder a bit about Dak?

It would me

What if they started Brandon Knight at OT and he didn’t give up a sack, or what if they started CJ Goodwin instead of Byron Jones and he didn’t give up significant yardage? What if we played every bench player and they held their own?

But the thing is, teams have to make decisions based on what they see and know and believe and learn from working with players. They can’t make decisions based on whatever “what if” anyone can dream up.

Besides, even if that happened what would it prove other than giving us a better feeling about our backup QB situation. And the thing is, I would be all for that if this were a meaningless game. I would love to know more about Rush in a real game situation. But with playoffs on the line it’s not the time to play with the purpose of evaluating backups.

What if Rush was proven NFL QB that had won games in this league . That would make people more confident in his ability to move the ball . With the playoffs on the line who in there right mind takes out there starting QB who has won more games in this league in 4 yrs than almost every other QB and puts someone in that has won ZERO

Please temper the frustration with just a touch of football sense .

They will never start another QB because it would show just how limited Dak is

Time to move on from Dak. Jerry needs to jump out ahead of all the off season drama of the “to pay Dak or not Pay Dak BS.”

Move on. Let’s make it about football around here and not who gives good interviews. We will not get a good coach to come here if the worse player on our offense is the highest paid player on the team. The new coach is going to want to draft his guy or bring the free agent of his choice at about $9-10 million.

So why not go ahead and end the Dak offseason Saga and let Cooper Rush get a chance. Hell, might even find out he is capable enough to make the easy throws Dak gets praised for. Might find out if he is good enough to keep around to be the backup next year.

When Dak has been struggling, there has been some rumblings in the locker room. Specifically, some key players think Rush could produce better results. This is a growing group, and one of the prominent players in this group is none other than Amari Cooper.

Slappys will continue to undervalue Rush and then when he has great success elsewhere, those same slappys will blame the team but never themselves.

The decision to play the better players isn't about this, and one game wouldn't have an impact on jersey sales anyway. Coaches and teams would choose to play the better players even if there were no jerseys to sell, but realistically what influences sales more than anything is attracting fans to a winning team - which, again, requires playing the better players.
