Just so we’re clear once and for all, Garrett likely isn’t going to be fired

His contract expires in 14 days and the most likely scenario is that it simply isn’t renewed. We save no money by terminating him over the next two weeks. None of that prevents us from interviewing and hiring someone else prior to that.

Im surprised this fairly straight forward and obvious information is being so overlooked by fans and the media a like. Everyone being so up in arms he hasn’t been “fired” is silly.

Yeah that’s a fact. But Jerry will make an announcement confirming that JG won’t be back. When he does that is anyone’s guess, but I’d imagine it will be Thursday.

Jerry is just loving the attention, spotlight and view traffic this is causing. Once the attention dies down because we “got our hopes up” he will drop the news: “we won’t be extending Jason Garrett” and “Cowboys have met with Rhule, Meyer, Riley, etc” will come out and Jerry will have his attention back. One thing we all know about Jerry is that he loves the spotlight.

There is no reason to keep JG on the team through the 14th. One would think Jerry would want to make a decision as quickly as possible for the team and JG.

Waiting till the 14th would make it almost impossible for JG to get another job as an HC this season if that is what he wants.

JJ will announce that JG is is new "Special Assistant to the Assistant of the General Manager" pay him another boat load of money and then announce that he, Jerrah Jones is going to just go ahead and be the Head Football Coach of the Dallas Cowboys! "How 'Bout dem Cowboys!!!!" :omg:

Exactly why our 2 best coaches under him fled the scene.

That's a very legit point. All the more reason for the charades to end Tuesday and Jones to make an announcement that Garrett won't be extended and the search for a new HC has already begun.

Weird situation, either Garrett is hoping to pitch coming back with an all new staff, is considering taking a front office job with the Cowboys, but wants to see interest from other teams first for head coach, or Jerry just hasn't had it him to make a decision yet.

Only logical reasons why there would be a 2nd meeting.

I've seen very few people "overlook" this information, as it's been repeated ad nauseam.

What it doesn't explain is another meeting with Jerry & Stephen tomorrow.
