Just some of my thoughts on the "top names";
Meyer - Has proven he can win in multiple settings and prefers the offensive style the NFL is gravitating toward (closer to college style). He has coached on both sides of the ball and his reputation (that I have heard) is picking solid coordinators and empowering them. Having been deeply involved in the college football scene, he would be a huge asset in draft talent evaluation for the next two...maybe three...drafts. That is something the Cowboys need in "filling out" the roster and finding hidden gems.
Rhule - Has proven he can win without superior talent. Face it, he isn't getting the 5 stars at Baylor or anywhere else he has coached. That tells me he wins with coaching up his talent and scheme. When he goes up against a team with an obvious talent advantage at every position and in their depth, he struggles...but that won't be the case in the NFL. Same as Meyer in college talent evaluation. He is big on character...that might be something that would help in Dallas.
Riley - He as also coached both sides of the ball but is strongest on the offensive side. Knows how to adjust to, and get the most from, QBs of different style. He would need a strong and aggressive DC. Excellent coach but not necessarily an excellent recruiter across the county. Gets enough talent to dominate the conference, but consistently gets out recruited on the national scale. Might be looking to leave while the leaving is good because his QB next season will be a redshirt freshman. Same as Meyer and Rhule on talent evaluation.
Old Sean - Might be interested if the Saints win the SB and Brees hangs it up. Don't think Jerry will want to give up what would be needed to trade for him.
Roman - He would not be bringing Jackson and the receiving talent with him. His success has been with a QB that is/were better runners than Dak. Be careful here.
McDaniels - Don't trust him. If it wasn't for luck, he would have screwed the Colts. Track record for BB assistants is not good when the leave his side.
Dabo - The word is he will stay at Clemson until one job opens up...then he bolts. He is the "heir apparent" to Saban at Alabama. Beside, I don't know how his "rah rah" style would translate to the NFL.
