he is an old school guy who was with wade and reeves. The guy has seen it all and has been everything from a head coach to a wr coach in the nfl.

he is a great hire and especially if they bring more people of his background on his staff.

if I remember correctly he wanted to wear the suit in SF because of his admiration of Tom Landry.
That's true about the suit

actually hes been known to pay his assistants well close to the same or moore then the HC in some cases.. didnt he give Garett a huge raise to stay as OC , there were others I cant Remember off hand....im not worried about money as jerry spends plenty..

i just meant essentially pay two head coach ish salaries.

I wonder if the marvin lewis interview was about researching mike mccarthy.

A move to a 3-4 would be interesting. Granted, teams play a lot of nickle now as well.

Could you imagine switching to a 3-4 and we had taken TJ Watt?

LOL. I know, old wound. hahahaha.

they won't switch. Nolan has coached in all kinds of defenses.

I personally would love a switch to the 3-4 and still think it was a mistake to change.

I can disgust Nolan being a defensive coordinator of this team.

So does Nolan mix up his packages? Like more man? I’m saying I hate zone defense but having a good mix of both can really throw a defense off

as much as I dont want that to happen, MM can teach KM further in the offseason and they can blend their schemes.. KM did finish with the #1 offense and yes I know it was mostly padded against bad teams but they all count.. 113 point differential etc Im sure MM can work with that and again give his input on changes etc..

I mean KM is a lot more up to date with todays NFL offenses and might be a good protégé for McCarthy..
I agree, I think it is a nice mix and great for Moore

We need to do all of the above.

3-4, 4/3, or whatever defensive alignment will work that week.

This is a guy that masks his coverages too.

Nolan would be a really good hire.

Rumor is he likes the plays he called. So I wouldnt be shocked if he wasn't ok with it even before his interview

I remember reading an article about him studying all the teams and trends that worked this year to flesh out his playbook, and he used one of kellens designs as an example, and was practically gushing over it/him.

I heard on NFL Network that Kellen Moore was basically part of the package McCarthy had to except.
So the question will be who calls the plays. In the NBC interview he said he learned that the person who calls the plays really has to be guy who installs the game plan during the week. Also will be curious to see how much they change the offense given how well Dak is reading things now.

LVE and Lee inside, Smith as an edge rushing OLB, find another OLB?

Would work for me.

he’s a terrible DC.

stats are terrible.

just keep Marinelli then.

Based on what? He has had success with defenses in NY and baltimore.

He has such a vast coaching experience under different coaches and different schemes. he is a good coach.

I'm glad to see them not dragging their feet and McCarthy has taken the bull by the horns
