how do you know he had no problem with it? I didn't like it.
I want Dak signed long term, but if that can’t happen for whatever reason, I let him walk. There is no way I would ever slap the franchise tag on him.
That QB tag, with ever dollar owed immediately and counting against the cap, will hurt signing our FA’s and any others. It would definitely set our new coach back from having better personnel.
It’s also a dangerous road that seldom works with QBs and would either lead to an even more ridiculous contract or to his leaving in another year or two anyway.
What’s his record for his career?
And don’t compliment me. It makes me wonder if I’m doing something wrong.
If Russell Wilson was available, no one here would say they didn't want him.
Case Keenum IS available, and has shown himself to be far more capable of leading a team and making a difference when he has to make a play than Dak.
It is absurd that Dak's fans would deny that Keenum has played better. He went to Denver- who were in disarray and changing coaches- then went through the same mess in Washington.
But I would be willing to bet that Minnesota would tell you that the year they lost getting Cousins up to speed wasn't worth letting Keenum go.
Case Keenum is a better quarterback than Dak.
BOOM!!!A deep dive into Prescott’s first 50 starts reveals some staggering results. According to Pro Football Reference, nearly 200 quarterbacks have made at least 50 starts in the modern era of the NFL (post 1950). Prescott’s 26 interceptions are the fewest of any quarterback during their first 50 starts.
Is that number skewed by limited throws? Nope. Prescott also owns the best interception rate (1 per 59.1 passes) in NFL history for a quarterback’s first 50 starts.
Prescott’s 2.8 TD/INT ratio ranks second to Aaron Rodgers (2.9).
Doesn’t throw the ball downfield? Nah. Prescott’s 7.72 adjusted yards per attempt ranks seventh in first 50 history, one spot behind Dan Marino (7.84) and ahead of Ben Roethlisberger (7.67), Peyton Manning (6.88) and a slew of Hall of Famers.

Here is a short list of names to help the discussion, along with their projected market value according spotrac.I need to know the salaries of each..
Clearly there are better QB's on that list then Dak and there are QB's who can produce at a similar level.
This is so very true, and props to the OP for the perspective.Get rid of the HC and we will win and now get rid of the QB and we will win. lol People can play their games all they want but at the end of the day Dak is the QB.
Did not get that far on the salaries.
If you find out..please add in the thread.
Thanx.
Also..anybody that might be traded for with a future draft pick add them.
If this drags out past the draft into TC..
any of these names might become more viable.
See aboveWhats the cost for each?
That is a huge factor. Money matters. If you can get one of these guys at less than 10 a year you have a chance to build around them while not solely depending on them.

Our offense is so talent heavy I could go 8-8....Not sure how Case Keenum having a 1-1 playoff record at almost 32 years old - where he threw more picks than touchdowns! - makes him any better than Dak in terms of results? I'm just judging him by how the people who complain about Dak judge him.
And that's his BEST season. Overall he was dismal both before AND after that one season. He's 27-25 over his career, so he's in no sense a "winner" despite his stats over his career. Which are also bad.
Brees will never leave NO. After Katrina, he and that city are married until death. He’s a God there. Not to mention that he has a great coach with whom he has a great relationshipBrees may actually like Dallas not much of a move from LA, Brady is looking for a perfect fit and Dallas most likely not it..in the end TB12 most likely stays in NE..
Tebow could too, and he's a winner. Our offense is so talent heavy I could go 8-8....
Funny how y'all had no problem when Jerry made Romo the highest paid league QB back in 2012.
Share your plan and I imagine people would respond favorably to you putting forth the effort tWhy does it gotta be this way. If you can't sign the guy for the price the team can afford, why then does it have to be Dak and why then is anybody who is in favor of finding the best possible option a hater or troll? I mean, how does that make any sense at all?
This is so very true, and props to the OP for the perspective.
So Ive stated my issues I have with making Dak one of the top payed QBs in this league, but that is totally irrelevant and it doesn't matter how much the fan base has an issue with Dak getting payed, Im at least honest, and know that Dak is not going anywhere, he will be this teams franchise QB......
But... I still invest a dart, doesn't have to be a top pick in the draft, but I still invest a draft pic that can at the very least beat out Cooper Rush.
Say THANK YOU # 21 and move on now Mr.Prescott.....
P.S. Guess that's why #21 got his mega-deal eh?

Its hard without knowing what your going to pay these QBs but lets assume Dak gets 33 mil. Thats just too much to pay for avg.
1. I truly believe you could go get keenum and tell him he will be back up and then make him the starter for 7 mil a year.
2. Winston sure makes a lot of mistakes but at least he goes for it instead of holding onto the ball too long. He doesnt get shut down against good teams either. He clearly throws the football better and with the Cowboys top 10 defense he would be an upgrade if you could just cut back on mistakes. I think Winston could be had for 25 mil.
3. Brees, Brady and Rivers are all about done and doubt they would want to come to Dallas.
4. Tannehill is better than Dak but he is gonna want the same money as Dak. Thats just too much for an avg QB.
5.Mariotta is not as good as Dak and is gonna want probably 18 mil I wouldnt want him.
6. Rush is garbage and wouldnt even be 3rd QB on most teams in the league.
I would consider calling the 49rs and make a trade for NIck Mullens.
