It really comes down to Ideology/priorities.

Do I want to make/earn as much money as possible?

Or

Do I want to win as many championships as possible?

Im all about getting paid personally but I’m not a professional athlete.

Plus the $5-10 million for endorsements, that's a great income. And, it leaves money for the team to get better. People can hate Tom Brady, but he did it correctly in that respect.

I am too. I've seen guys in the past take discounts just for the owner/gm to waste that same money on a bum. Its not Dak's responsibility to help the GM out. He needs to help himself out and get it done and do whatever it take to get talent.

Dak has made $4M in 4 years. He's already given a pretty big discount given his performance.

You can't blame him for hesitating on giving up even more money.

LOL......this kind of get lost with many fans but from nuggets I've heard/read, it's 101 in the agent community. Their clients played their rookie deal on a discount.
