Sorry but Dak is following the path of players like D-Law, Jaylen, and Zeke where they get new contracts after feeling entitled and then sucking the next year.

I say apply the non-exclusive franchise tag to Dak and allow him to negotiate with other teams. That way Dallas isn't setting the market and if another team signs him to a stupid contract then Dallas receives (2) 1st round draft picks (can you say Miami or Oakland perhaps).

I personally would love Dallas to draft Utah State QB Jordan Love. He is 6' 4" 225 pounds with a very strong arm.
Jordan Love stinks.

Miami can pick a top 3 QB in the draft. They didn't acquire all those first rounders for Dak. The Raiders? Isn't Carr still under contract? They'll probably go WR first round.

Didn't know the tag will be around $33M as Fish is reporting. Thought $27M was the number...

It is 27M. The 33 comes from the exclusive tag.

In the 5th round, sure, why not.

My respect for Dak is beginning to fall.
Since mid-season for me unfortunately.

His inability to play well in the first halves constantly..

..made us always play catchup.

It limited running the ball with Zeke and Pollard..

took play action out of the offense and meant protection for Dak was harder to do.

That is not all on Dak. But he is at the end of the line of all the various decisions.

So let's see how this rolls.

I like Dak as QB. I don't love him.

I do think we should keep him, but paying him a ton would most likely lead to a lesser team, prolly not super bowl quality.

Dak's WRs stunk it up all 2019 season, dropping balls, not catching passes that were slightly off target while WRs for other teams were catching those off target passes, running lazy routes, not getting open consistently, always injured, taking themselves off the field, taking plays off, etc. Let's not put it all on Dak. Our WRs sucked all year.

Exclusive tag @ 27 makes the most sense at this point. If no teams offer anything, his new starting point in negotiations is 27/yr, not 35. If someone bites, we get 2 first rounders to rebuild.
Most Dak critics would take 27 on a short term deal or just the one yr/draft hopeful replacement. If Dak improves, we still got the franchise tag next year in our back pocket.

His comment that everybody can get paid was ill advised as was Flacco's that he didn't want his deal to hamper the team.....exactly what it did.

I would have more respect for a player to just be all business about it and say he isn't settling for anything but top dollar. And for fans to fault Prescott for going for the gold is wrong, they all do that, why shouldn't he? He didn't take the deal and bet on himself for 2019 and now he wants to cash in.

My truth about this is simple. If all of the players on that damned team cared as much about their play on the field as he does and his willingness to give himself up to make a play, they would be better than 8-8. He is not the reason that team has underperformed, he shows up every gameday and gives all he's got to give.

And if anyone thinks they're going to do better than Prescott, check that record and while you're at it, look who they tried to get in the 2016 draft. This would not be the brain trust I would send out looking for a franchise QB. They got lucky with his predecessor, you want these clowns dependent on skill to find one?

And if they do that, it will have the same effect as when Cousins got tagged, started jacking the QB salaries.

And the owners aren't the only ones that should be concerned with the disproportionate cap absorption of the QB, the other players better be as well. The NFL is already a have/have not league with players salaries and it's getting worse.

Who wouldn't want to make someone the highest paid QB coming off an 8-8 season, with two career playoff appearances and one playoff win? Sounds like a no-brainer to me.

Remember, guys. He's a "winner." Just look at the numbers. So much winning.

yes, a combination of Cooper, Gallup and Cobb is just not good enough LOL

stop it already
That is a top 5 trio in the NFL and if that’s not good enough, it’s on Dak
